From Fandom To Family: My BTS Journey

In this interview, I'll be pouring my heart out about my beloved K-Pop group, BTS.

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hi! I'm Anushay, a 17-year-old college student from Pakistan, and blogging is my cherished hobby. I enjoy sharing my unique perspectives and passions through my articles.

How and when did you enter the fandom?

On October 15, 2021, I unintentionally discovered BTS through one of their interviews. My curiosity led me to explore who they were and why there is so much hype about them. It didn't take long for me to realize that BTS deserves every bit of that hype, and even more.

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

There are several reasons why I love BTS.
1. Their Incredible Talent:
I'm constantly amazed by the exceptional musical and dancing skills of the group. The members of BTS are not only talented singers and rappers but also outstanding musicians with electrifying songs. I appreciate that BTS's fame isn't centered around one member; instead, they are collectively talented, and each member contributes equally to their success.
2. Relatable Lyrics:
BTS doesn't shy away from addressing personal and societal issues in their music. Their meaningful lyrics often resonate with fans, making us feel like they understand our struggles and emotions.
3. Authenticity and Humility:
Despite their immense success, BTS remains down-to-earth and genuine. Their humility, kindness, and commitment to their fans create a strong bond between us, making us feel like we're part of their journey.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

j-hope stood out to me with his amazing dancing and his cheerful personality; I love it when he randomly starts dancing, it just makes me happy.

Who is your bias, and why?

Well, all of them are equally precious to me but my bias is JungKook because he is incredibly talented, has an irresistible charm, and those adorable bunny teeth that melt my heart.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

For the title track, I'd suggest checking out the first K-Pop song I ever listened to, 'Idol', as it features catchy beats and a powerful vibe that's hard to resist. And for the B-side, there are actually so many songs that I love but 'Magic Shop' has a special spot in my heart.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

I'd suggest watching JungKook's recent V Lives where he engages in everyday tasks like laundry, washing dishes, and cooking; fans can relate to him and feel he's just like on of us.

Can you also recommend a content video (variety series, song cover, dance cover, etc.) by your favorite group?

"Run BTS" all the way. I personally love it because it reveals their authentic, everyday selves, not just their celebrity personas. Also I think after watching the "Run BTS" series, it's hard for anyone not to become an ARMY.

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

Out of all the amazing lyrics by BTS, these lines from the song 'Magic Shop' stand out as my personal favorites:
"On days I hate being myself, days I want to disappear forever
Let's make a door in your heart
Open the door and this place will await
It's okay to believe, the Magic Shop will comfort you."

Are there any words from the members you would like to share?

The message delivered by BTS during their UN speech was incredibly comforting and reassuring.

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

One of the best parts of being a fangirl is growing alongside the artist through both good and bad times. As BTS prepares for their military service in 2023, their devoted fans including me are eagerly anticipating their return in 2025, which demonstrates the strength of their unbreakable bond.

My message isn't just for my bias; it's for all of BTS. I want them to know that I truly love and appreciate them. They inspire me immensely, and I really adore their friendship. They've shown me the importance of being a good, hardworking individual and a great friend, just like they are to each other. Their journey serves as a constant reminder that unwavering hard work can lead to remarkable success in the end.
