Kpopmap Fan Interview: A Brazilian Goldenness Talks About Her Favorite Group Golden Child & Her Bias JiBeom

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other' stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

Zanni is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Brazil. She is a fan of Golden Child and more particularly of JiBeom! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hello~ My name is Zanni (@zibeomsbae on twitter), I'm 23 years old and I'm from Brazil.

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I know Golden Child since their pre-debut era because of my best friend (Amanda who is also participating in Kpopmap Fan Interview). I got to see their stuff during Woollim Project and through Woollim Pick too but at first I wasn't a Goldenness. I liked them soooo much but I was resistent to get into the fandom, later on, around their hiatus between 'Genie' and 'Wannabe', I gave up and decided to follow them actively, into twitter fandom and all.

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

Golden Child is really a unique group. I'm in K-Pop since 2012 and I dare say that, for me, they are completely different from all groups I like/liked since then. They're so talent, they fit so well into different styles of music and they have such great dances and harmony between the members. They're EXTREMELY funny and so transparent, they talk about everything with Goldenness, they let us be really close and this kinda of relationship is so nice. I feel so comfortable with them.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

At first, it was JangJun. During 'DamDaDi' era, his hair was kinda orangeish and he has such a great smile, it got me at first, not to mention how funny he is.

Who is your bias, and why?

My bias is JiBeom. I've fallen in love with him in such a innocent way through a interview. First of all: his voice. I love his voice a lot and the different ranges he can do is amazing. I love also his personality, he's so funny and smart, he says and does funny things without thinking and it gets me every time, he's amazing and very polite. He's genuine and it made me love him deeply hahaha.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

For title track, I will recommend 'Burn It', their zombie apocalypse MV. The harmony and beat of this song is amazing.

For a B-side I will recommend, of course, my top 1 song which is 'Don't Run Away', it is my favourite Golden Child song, I love it a lot. Also 'Lady', it is such a great song

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

JiBeom had a mini radio corner on V Live named " 지범이의 북두칠성", where he recommends songs and sings some of them, it is nice to see him having fun. Also for fancams, the ones from 'One' era are amazing!!

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

For a group content I would like to recommend a compilation of their performances since debut, it is so great to see how they changed and how much they've grown in these past 5 years. I feel so proud. Also their mini reality shows are amazing, it is a must watch, of course. They also have a Woollim The Live, which is where they sang covers songs, they're amazing.

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

Golcha have such great lyrics and one of the ones that I remember vividly in my mind are the ones from 'All Day' and 'Oasis'. These lyrics have such deep meaning, it is worth searching for them and listening to the song while reading.

Are there any words from the members you would like to share?

Our members are so, so, so, so great with words. Our leader, DaeYeol, always says how important it is to keep humble and grow a little bit everyday. Our members JooChan and TAG are always saying good things to us too, to don't worry much, to live each day and have fun. They're always supporting Goldenness and sharing their deepest thoughts to help us.

What is your favorite group/bias' influence on your daily life?

Always believing in myself and in my dreams, making me feel better and with the thought of possibility to pursue anything I want to. They're always supporting us, sharing good words so with them, I believe I can do anything.

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

Being a fan is certainly such a innocent feeling, having other people to look after and not wishing much in return. We love their songs, their selves and keep following what they do everyday, while we too have a life and that's so nice, you get used to it, you be happy every time your bias post something, maybe you're having a bad day and just watching some random video of them on YouTube can make you go to space, I believe that's great and it's genuine, it's pure. I like to think it that way.

Can you recommend words that your bias like to hear to new fans who don't know yet about it?

JiBeom gets said a lot how handsome he is, and even tho he may listen to it frequently he gets shy and red hahaha. It's cute to see him flustrated so I believe calling him handsome/pretty might be a go for a try hahah.

Can you describe your bias in only one word?

Gentle.

Can you share a fun episode that only fans from your fandom know to readers?

Once the members TAG and SeungMin fought over taking out the trash, they got to jump on each other and fight with fists and with that they broke JiBeom's game chair hahaha they shared it once during a VLIVE.

If you are collecting goods, what is your most precious treasure?

I collect albums, photocards and merch but I believe one of my biggest goals was some rare photocards and the recent jacket they released from their last concert.

If you have a chance to cook for the group, what will you cook for them?

I would love to cook something traditional, like in Brazil we have Feijoada and Strogonoff. Also some traditional deserts like brigadeiro, it would be really fun to do.

If you can spend a day with your bias, where will you go and what will you do?

Would love to go to a gallery, a movie theater or a day at the park, it sounds lovely and refreshing.

What is your favourite way of communicating with your bias?

With Golden Child, besides Twitter, they have a message app where they frequently updates us, shares pics and usually says how their day are going and it is so nice to have this kinda of communication, I can feel really close to them.

What do you have in common with your favourite idol?

My friends say that I'm all the same with JiBeom, we were born with only 1 day of difference so all my friends says that we have similar personalities and I think that's so funny to hear because I really can see it sometimes, they usually say how funny, caring and gentle both of us are.

Is your bias different while performing and in real life? What is your reaction to the difference (if there's any)?

By seeing JiBeom on stage, you might think that he's a serious guy but he's extremely funny and whenever something chaotic is happening in Golden Child, he's envolved hahaha he has a gentle personality, he takes care of his dongsaengs and hyungs a lot even tho he may be a little shy.

If you could write a book about your bias, what would the first and last lines be?

"I would like to introduce y'all a bright, funny and talented guy from Busan. He makes my heart flutter everytime I hear his voice and his laugh"
"Isn't he the loveable boy ever? or I'm just a little too whipped? Either way, I'm glad I got to say how important he is to me".

Have you ever made a new friend because of K-Pop?

Yes, a lot. I have my bestfriend, we started our friendship in 2017 because of kpop and along with her a lot of other friends, from different locations and countries, which I will definitely carry for the rest of my life, I'm really glad that K-Pop made it possible.

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?

Golden Child has so much to offer, besides talented they're such funny guys, they're just living their best life and living it with them is amazing. I would like to tell people to give a chance to groups they don't know, because once you know Golcha, you will never leave them. I assure you, they have all kinda of concepts, from cute and fresh to something dark and with theories. I'm sure you won't regret.
