Kpopmap Fan Interview: Six TO MOON From Seohocafe Talk About Their Favorite Group ONEUS & Their Bias SeoHo

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

 

@seohocafe admins are the next fans to answer our questions. They are a fan of ONEUS and more particularly of SeoHo! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

 

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hello! We are a translation and updates team running an account for ONEUS’ main vocalist SeoHo called seohocafe! The members include Bana (from the Philippines), B (from the Philippines), Mira (from Australia), Rose (from Singapore), Kt (from Korea) and Yvette (from Hungary).

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I got very interested in ONEUS when the ‘COME BACK HOME’ Concept Film dropped. I decided to look deeper into their discography and loved all of it. From that point on I knew that I will support them with whatever I can. 🙂

Can still vividly remember the exact day, it was January 10, 2019. I learned about them from a member of the other band I follow when he tweeted about ONEUS’ debut album “Light Us”. I got curious about them and watched their ‘Valkyrie’ MV. I immediately loved them because of their unique concept. That’s the start of my day as a TO MOON.

Since watching “Produce 101” in 2017, I have been anticipating the debut of RBW BOYZ. Their debut made them my ult as I fell in love with ‘Valkyrie’ and the whole “Light Us” album! SeoHo became my official bias after listening to his singing in ‘Red Thread’.

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

Being my favourite K-Pop boygroup since 2019, ONEUS kept improving themselves with each comeback and always delivered incredible performances. One thing I love the most about the boys is their live vocals.

ONEUS never fails in making their fans feel as welcomed as possible. I love how they interact with us, the fact that they’re sharing their thoughts and talking about their passion all the time, how they love what they’re doing and constantly work hard to improve themselves.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

It was Ravn, since he’s very charming on stage, and his rap parts are significant in the songs.

First member that caught my eye was LeeDo. The contrast of his cool low voice when he raps and his high tone and colorful vocals when he sings is so amazing for me.

Who is your bias, and why?

SeoHo – I first fell in love with his vocals in the bridge for ‘LIT’ but then once I started learning about the members, I fell in love with his personality (a moodmaker/serotonin booster).

SeoHo. As soon as I got to know the members better, I found that I could relate to him the most. The way he interacts with us always makes me happy, and somehow he helps me gain confidence and changes my perspective on a lot of things.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

I’d love to recommend ‘TO BE OR NOT TO BE’ because this song and the LIVED album made me realize how diverse and skilled they are. For a B-side track, ‘Red Thread’ is a must for sentimental individuals.

For a title track, I would definitely recommend ‘LIT’. Personally, I think this traditional upbeat track represents ‘ONEUS’ the best (it was also the track that made me stan 😉 )

For the title track, I highly recommend ‘A Song Written Easily’, it is different from all their other title tracks as it gives a very refreshing but emotional vibe. For the B-side, I would definitely recommend ‘We’re In Love’. The members LeeDo and SeoHo participated in composing this song so it was a very special song for me as they are both my biases. It’s also a very easy to listen kind of song so I highly recommend it to people who prefer that type of music.

For the title track, my absolute favorite would be ‘Twilight’. It was their first comeback after their debut and everything about the song, music video, choreography, and princely outfits were just mesmerizing. I would like to recommend ‘Stand By’ which was sung by the vocal line of ONEUS. It’s a song that gives you comfort and would be a perfect song for driving.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

SeoHo’s ‘No diggity’ FaceCam by SBS KPOP. Watching his performance always leaves me in awe.Yvette

 

I would like to recommend watching SeoHo’s Emotions VLive. It is a continuing content of SeoHo where he listens to fans requests, talks about his interests, his life, and sings a lot of variety of songs! It’s the #1 VLive content TO MOONs look forward to (according to SeoHo himself) 😆.Bana

 

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

I recommend ONEUS’ K-Campus Life web drama from 1theK. It’s the first time ONEUS tried acting and they did an absolutely great job!

I would like to recommend their variety show series from 1theK which is “Show Me the MWM”. It showcased ONEUS’ funny side and showed a lot of their individual personalities here ^^

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

One of my favourite lyrics from ONEUS is their album “DEVIL” b-side ‘Incomplete’:
“Now I’m standing at the starting line
A little bit further than others
It doesn’t matter if I start late”
Although, contrary to these lyrics, I’m progressing through my future career pathway at a young age, these lines are a reminder for whenever I feel stuck in life that I don’t have to feel pressured to stay ahead of my path and can take things at a much more relaxed and steady pace.Mira

 

Are there any words from the members you would like to share?

“Life is something everyone experiences for the first time so no one knows what the future holds. That’s why I think it’s enough that you’re working hard as it is. Fighting!” – SeoHo

What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life?

I was just getting to know the basics of Korean when I joined the fandom. At that time, I was extremely grateful to those who translated content in their free time, and decided to actively study the language myself. I enjoy learning from the ONEUS members themselves and enrolling in Korean courses, meeting new people sharing the same interest with me. Also, all of this led to me becoming friends with the other translators who I admire so much.

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

It is definitely the people I have found here. This does not only apply to various artists but also great friends that gave me comfort that I never found in real life people. Meeting various people broadened my perspective on life and made life a bit more interesting.

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?

As a ONEUS’s TikTok fan page owner, I notice a lot of non-fans mention they don’t know how chaotic and funny ONEUS are.
