        NewJeans is one of the most popular groups on the K-Pop scene right now. They are a 5-member girl group under ADOR (All Doors One Room) which is a sub-label under HYBE Labels. They were produced by the art director and CEO of ADOR, Min HeeJin, and debuted on July 22, 2022, releasing their debut EP on August 1, 2022.

        The members MinJi, Hanni, Danielle, HaeRin, and HyeIn have been the apple of many K-Pop fans' eyes ever since their debut.

        Not even 200 days into their debuted career, NewJeans is already accomplishing feats as great as some of their legendary industry seniors. Not only have they won over the hearts of fans worldwide but they have gained the respect of numerous industry officials and peers, too.

        They are known for being a K-Pop sensation that hopes to appeal to all generations and fans from different walks of life. They are icons and legends in the making.

        NewJeans is a group of super rookies who seem to reach new milestones almost every minute.

        Unparalleled musical sound

        NewJeans have managed to create a sound that is unparalleled and distinct. They have managed to redefine K-Pop with an unconventional sound that, true to their vision, appeals to everyone. In fact, in recent days, a TikTok trend has started where people who never used to listen to the K-Pop genre have confessed that they are obsessed with NewJeans' music.

        Their music is the kind that has you unknowingly humming or singing it the whole day or even performing their addictive choreography without thinking.

        Their sound takes inspiration from numerous genres such as R&B, hip-hop, moombahton, etc. With addictive beats and rhythms, profound lyrics, and intricate narratives, their music delivers not only a treat for the ears but music that appeals to the soul.

        One of the distinguishing factors between NewJeans and other rookie groups is that they are one of the groups where the members participate in the production process.

        Member MinJi has writing credits for 'Ditto', Hanni has writing credits for 'Hype Boy' and 'OMG', and Danielle has writing credits for 'Attention'.

        NewJeans are the epitome of aesthetic as they embrace themes such as Y2K nostalgia with a simultaneously reminiscent but fresh look.

        Their aesthetic is one of the biggest reasons that they captivate the eyes of many. Everything from their unique styling, the graphic design in their marketing, and even the design of their merchandising appeals to the eye and especially to fans who believe in their brand.

        Interestingly, their CEO Min HeeJin is also a graphic designer and has designed their album cover and more herself. She prides herself on visual storytelling and this is telling to her fans, pun intended. You can see that every aspect of NewJeans and their concept is well-intertwined.

        This is also thanks to Min HeeJin's years of game-changing thinking in the industry, prioritizing narratives enforced by visuals. She has been known to have redefined the idea of CDs in K-Pop. This time, with NewJeans' debut, she has even shown the success factor for a new twist on album releases. Instead of going for the standard debut album and one title track, she has been mixing a series of pre-releases and multiple lead single approaches to create new excitement surrounding the idea of a debut or comeback.

        She has proven the power of creative marketing even before a group debuts, which is evident in the way that everyone knew about NewJeans even before their official debut.

         

        Milestones over a just few months

        NewJeans have accomplished many things in their rookiedom that are more common for groups beyond their years. For example, despite the group not even being a year old, they are already getting paid for their idol activities, as revealed by their CEO. This is uncommon for a lot of idol groups that don't earn an income at first.

        NewJeans have been known for occupying the tops of music charts ever since their debut, especially in Korea on prominent charts like Flo, Bugs, Genie, Melon, and more.

        Additionally, they have topped iTunes charts in numerous countries.

        NewJeans have recently also made their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. They are the first fourth-generation K-Pop group to achieve this feat and make it onto this particular chart. Their song 'Ditto', is the pre-release track for their single album "OMG" and debuted on the chart at number 96. It has been doing the rounds on charts such as the UK's Official Singles Chart Top 100 (at number 95) and Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Global chart (at number 11). The track has also reached number 8 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart.

        They're also already pulling huge numbers when it comes to album sales.

        Their self-titled debut EP "New Jeans", with the hit triple lead singles 'Attention', 'Hype Boy', and 'Cookie', sold 311,200+ copies in the first week of album sales.

        Their most recent release, the single album "OMG", sold 701,200+ copies in the first week of album sales. This is double the number of sales compared to their first release.

        These are quite impressive figures for a rookie group.

         

        Heartwarming award-winning moments

        The group has been sweeping the award scene with numerous nominations and winning huge awards already. They have been nominated for awards such as 'Performance of the Year', 'Best New Artist', popularity awards, 'Artist of the Year', 'Rookie of the Year', 'Best Album of the Year', 'Best Dance Performance', and the list goes on. Of these awards, they have won plenty of categories, including grand prizes.

        There are several adorable videos of the moments when the girls have won their awards, their expressions showing a mixture of elation and disbelief. It has been truly heartwarming for Bunnies to experience these history-defining moments where the NewJeans members' hard work has paid off.

         

        Fashion brand ambassador love calls

        Not only are the NewJeans members making waves in the music industry, but multiple brands are giving them love calls to be their ambassadors. This is in both a group and individual capacity.

        The group has booked collaborations with big brands such as SK Telecom, MUSINSA, Shinhan Bank, and more. This is whilst some of the members have booked brand ambassador deals with high-end luxury brands, too.

        Hanni is the brand ambassador for Gucci, Danielle is the brand ambassador for Burberry, and HyeIn is the brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton. Other than NewJeans, the high-profile K-Celebrities who are brand ambassadors for the aforementioned brands include actress Jung HoYeon, and members of K-Pop groups like BTS and BLACKPINK, to name a few.

        These achievements and more just go to show that NewJeans are, in fact, a top-class K-Pop group and legends in the making.
