In Korea, as Spring approaches, convenience stores, food brands, coffee shops, and more unveil special cherry blossom-flavored products such as breads and beverages. Among the most anticipated are sparkling waters and alcoholic beverages. These products, changing annually and available only during the Spring season, are coveted as limited editions.
For those who have yet to try these, they can expect cherry blossom flavors to be sweet with a slight floral essence. In the best cases, it is delicious! In the worst cases, it tastes artificial. However, it's not just the taste that draws people. The appeal is the beautiful flowery and pink packaging of these products. They look tasty and put customers in a good mood while tasting spring.
As cherry blossoms begin to bloom in Seoul around early April and the new releases are out, Kpopmap looked into the new products in the beverage aisles of supermarkets and convenience stores. This year, the market is dominated by alcoholic drinks. Here are three cherry blossom-flavored drinks released this Spring in Korea.
Cherry Blossom Jamong Mint Highball
The Cherry Blossom Jamong Mint Highball (벚꽃자몽민트하이볼) from the convenience store CU was just released.
Highballs are trending alcohol drinks in Korea, this is most likely why CU selected this drink to flavor with cherry blossoms for their new 2024 release. Their latest alcoholic beverage boasts a refreshing blend featuring grapefruit, cherry blossoms, and mint flavors, with an alcohol content of 4.0%. Sweet and refreshing like the spring season. The design is also colorful with cherry blossoms and a blue sky capturing the essence of the new season.
It is sold at 4,000 KRW or approximately 3 USD.

Beer flavored at the Cherry Blossoms
The cherry blossom-flavored beer from Cherry Blossom Ending (벚꽃엔딩) is released and sold in the GS25 convenience stores. If you've been to Korea in Spring before, you would know that Koreans LOVE listening to Busker Busker's 'Cherry Blossom Ending' so that is most likely where the name comes from.
The beer, with a gentle 3.0% alcohol content, is infused with the flavors of raspberry and cherry blossoms, making it sweet and light. The beer has a subtle pink hue, adding to its visual appeal. Its design features a white backdrop adorned with delicate cherry blossoms, complemented by pink lettering. The brand highlights that their drink is a good choice for an outdoor picnic.
It is sold at 6,000 KRW or approximately 5 USD.

Alcohol of Cherry Blossoms
The alcohol of cherry blossoms (벚꽂주) from Cherry Blossom Ending (벚꽃엔딩) is also released in the GS25 convenience stores. It has a high degree of alcohol with 15.0%.
The drink is made of Korean apples and cherry blossoms. It's designed to enjoy springtime and includes an LED coaster.
It is sold at 15,500 KRW or approximately 12 USD.
