The one and only musical awarding event in Korea, "Korea Musical Awards", is back for its 7th year. The event is annually held to commemorate hopes for the future of the Korean musical industry and to encourage creative expression through musicals. This year's ceremony will be held at the LG Art Center on January 16, 2023, at 7PM.
For the 7th Korea Musical Awards, the musicals that were opened to audiences from December 1, 2021, to December 4, 2022, were allowed to enter. A total of 94 musicals were enrolled, and a total of 1,593 people from the musicals were nominated for different awards such as Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Ensembles, among others. For the awarding of the grand prize, instead of the number of seats, it will be based on the creative premiere of the musical. 6 titles are said to be nominated for the said awards.
This year's Korea Musical Awards will be made available for live-streaming to global audiences in 154 countries through MetaTheater. The Korean platform is first to offer the live-streaming of K-Musicals. Previously, MetaTheater has brought titles such as "Midnight Sun", "EQUAL", "Bungee Jumping of Their Own", and "The Devotion of Suspect X" to audiences online.

The tickets for the 7th Korea Musical Awards will be made available on January 5, from 4PM. After signing up for MetaTheater, one can buy a ticket (single-use) for the said event. The tickets will be free of charge. From 30 minutes before the show starts, those who purchased the ticket may enter by clicking "Ticket Admission" on the "MY VIDEO" page.
Additionally, MetaTheater also will be holding events for audiences, with official merchandise or MetaTheater VOD tickets as prize. Among the events they have shared in their official social channels is the "Sharing Promotion Video" event, where fans are aked to retweet/regram the promotion video shared on MetaTheater Socials. The winner for this event will be able to receive Cinemastage Postcard Set and the Ceremony Program Book. The event is from January 9 to January 13. Another event is called "Sharing Your Enjoyment", participants are asked to repost their enjoyment while streaming. The winner of this event may choose between the 7th Korea Musical Award Calendar Set, or the MetaTheater VOD ticket.
