Located on the slopes of Seolheulsan Mountain, Daraengi Village offers a wonderful sight with 108 steps of terraced rice paddies that lead down to a twinkling seascape. Every spring, the Daraengi Rice Paddy Festival is held here, which allows visitors to learn more about rice planting as well as local customs. The iridescent hues reflected on the rice paddies as the sunshine caresses it gently is truly a wonder to behold. The scenery becomes even more breathtaking when the vibrant yellow canola blossoms blanket the paddies. 2. Slowing down at Geumsan Boriam Hermitage
Geumsan Boriam Hermitage is one of the most revered prayer spots in the country and is perfect for clearing your mind and healing your heart. It was founded in the year 683 by Great Master Wonhyo. You can take a hike up to the Geumsan Boriam Hermitage to witness the most spectacular view of the Hallyeohaesang National Park, as well as the smaller surrounding islets. Known as the "Little Germany" of South Korea, the Namhae German Village was built for Koreans who worked as miners and nurses in Germany in the 60s and 70s. It was meant for them to comfortably settle down after returning to their home country. The Namhae German Village boasts characteristic German architecture, such as cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses, and red-tiled roofs. You can enjoy German cuisine, learn about German culture, and if you're visiting in October, then you can even witness the German Village's exciting Oktoberfest!
