10 Heartfelt Messages From WayV's YangYang That Made Fans Emotional

Being the youngest member, maknaes are often responsible for the fun and laughter of their respective groups. They are also the ones who need extra tender loving care from the older members as they often tend to get a bit emotional in some instances. 

The maknae of NCT's Chinese subunit, WayV, is actually no stranger to that. In fact, there are many times that YangYang had WayZenNi cry buckets of tears with his long messages, whether it is from Bubble, Instagram, or Weibo. 

As he celebrates his 23rd birthday this October 10, I round off 10 heartfelt messages from YangYang that made WayZenNi emotional.

1. Greeting WayZenNi On WayV's 3rd Debut Anniversary

"Basically, you are everything to me. You are the people who accompany me to grow up, and you should be the people in this world except my parents who love me the most."

YangYang welcomed WayV's 3rd debut anniversary in 2022 with a very emotional and heart-fulfilling long message as he thanked WayZenNi for accompanying him and making time for him in the last three years. 

2. Conveying His Emotions Of Not Being Able To Perform In Front Of Fans

Just like every other idol, YangYang also had a hard time adjusting to performing in front of empty chairs back in 2020 — a time when the COVID pandemic was still at its height and fans could not watch their favorite groups perform in person. 

With WayV and NCT taking home back-to-back awards in Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), the soon-23-year-old rapper could not help but be emotional. 

"When I don't have you in the audience, I feel just like work. But when I have you, hearing everyone's voice can really take out 200% of the strength and enjoy it very much."

3. Ten Returning From China After Many Months And WayV Cried Their Hearts Out

In case some of you cannot recall, Ten went to China in September 2021 for his individual schedules and to, likewise, build his career in the Chinese market. It was in June 2022 when he returned, for the first time, in Korea, thus making him trend on social media. 

During their relay live on YIZHIBO shortly after Ten's return, YangYang revealed a TMI from their "Little WayV Party": All of the members cried.

This TMI left WayZenNi crying all day, thinking how hard it must be for WayV to be away from each other. 

"All of us cried because it was a bit emotional," YangYang revealed. "So, basically, like Ten exploded then XiaoJun quite a bit. Like, I can see there's tears coming out of his eyes."

4. When WayV performed as a group for the first time after almost a year

It is a known fact in Weishenville (a playful way of calling the community of WayZenNi) that 2021-2022 were one of the hardest years for WayV as a group.

This is why when they reunite (sans WinWin, who was filming his dramas in China at that time) for a group stage after almost a year in August 2022, all strings broke loose, even the members themselves. 

5. When 'Phantom' Was Released, YangYang Just Had To Bare His Soul 

Imagine waiting for two years before releasing a masterpiece of a song. WayV had gone through that and 'Phantom' would've stayed in the drafts if it weren't for the member's faith that it would be loved by WayZenNi.

Even in the lieu hours of its release, YangYang revealed that he was still worried that something might come up again but luckily, nothing happened, and now we freely enjoy listening all day long to 'Phantom' and all the side tracks in their album. 

6. Became A Dedicated 'Cat Dad' To Louis And Leon

Remember the time when Ten was in China and YangYang took on the responsibility of taking care of the cats, Louis and Leon? It came to the point that YangYang mentioned that he became responsible and a real 'cat dad' to the two! It was also the moment in 2021 that he remembered as particularly beautiful. 

Bonus: He once shared on Bubble that he would leave the door in his room open so that Leon and Louis could freely come in and cuddle on his bed. 

7. YangYang Telling WayZenNi To Be Confident In Themselves

YangYang has always been the biggest WayZenNi motivator and he never fails to remind us to always be confident in ourselves.  

"I feel like the message that we want to send to our fans is just to be confident in yourself. So starting from 'Regular' to 'Love Talk' is just like being confident in yourself, and doing so then you can beat any challenges in front of you," YangYang said during their interview with lifestyle magazine, PANORAMA. 

"That's always our main message, the one that we want to deliver."

8. When YangYang And WayV Thought No One Would Show Up At One Of Their Fanmeet Stops

Ready your tissues because this one is really heartbreaking. During their fanmeet stop in Jakarta, Indonesia, YangYang shared that him and his geges (hyung/older brother) were actually worried that no one would show up for their fan meeting, as it was their first time holding a solo event. However, upon learning that the show was actually sold out, all the members leaped in joy! 

"Thank you for making this come true, we love you guys so much, so much! We love you guys!"

9. YangYang's 520 Messages In 2023

For some who didn't know, 520 or May 20 is an unofficial Valentine's Day in China. The number "520" phonetically resembles "Wo Ai Ni" or "I Love You" in Chinese. 

For this year's 520 message, the soon-to-be 23-year-old rapper of NCT took WayZenNi on a rollercoaster of emotions when he talked about his gratefulness to everyone who stayed to support them. 

"Because of you, we can be what we are now. I will never forget this so don't think we take this for granted!"

10. YangYang Telling WayZenNi That He Will Work Hard To Become A "Little Sun" In Their Lives

Imagine being told you are the best in their life? Well, WayZenNi are lucky because that's how YangYang sees each of them. 

After six months of touring in different cities in Asia and Europe, WayV finally concluded their "PHANTOM" Fanmeeting Tour in Macau last August and of course, YangYang wouldn't miss the chance to bare his soul, once again, through his words.  

"When I am tired and have no energy, our WayZenNi brought it to me full of energy that it makes me want to show you the best of myself every time. You inspire the best of me," he wrote. 

"I also hope I can become a little sun in your life. I will work hard in the future. I hope that when you are unhappy or not going well, I can be your little strength."

I believe every WayZenNi would agree to this: no one loves us more than YangYang does and he has been very expressive of it since the beginning. He is grateful and appreciative of all the support he gets and in return, he will always remind us of the unending love he has for us.
