MinGyu (Kim MinGyu) is known as the main visual and rapper of "Self-Produced Idol" boy group SEVENTEEN. He delivers nasal iconic lines throughout his career such as the recent phenomenal “DARUMDARIMDA” from their latest song 'Super'.

His gorgeous tanned skin and height secured him tons of powerful magazine covers from "Vogue" to "Noblesse," as well as brand ambassadors for Innisfree Beauty in 2023.

Aside from his blissful appearance, Kim MinGyu has a lot of charms and talent that can make people head over heels on him.

You can find out five reasons why you have to start stanning him.

1. A Talented Musician and Artist

When he was scouted by a Pledis staff after going home from school, he never thought himself as a gifted singer or musician.

However, he had love for music since he was in middle school and decided to give it a try to audition. He immediately became a hot topic trainee who came to the audition wearing only jeans and sandals – he even only sang the Korean National Anthem while clapping his hand and passed the audition.

During his trainee years, he pushed himself to the limits to learn music and production, because he wanted to prove himself, he got accepted more than his visuals.

Eventually, he became known as a multitalented member who was able to play a bass guitar, songwriter, producer, director, photographer, and editor of the group.

2. His Odd and Puppy Personality

K-Pop idols have a tendency to do cute things called "Aegyo", when it comes to MinGyu, he does not need to try harder. He was naturally born with a gift to charm people through his odds and puppy-like personality.

What’s odd about him? He is very clumsy and liked to break things, even his members prayed and scolded him for his safety. His clumsiness and refreshing puppy smile are his main charms, especially when he showed his teeth that look like a fang makes him earn his nickname as "Vampire MinGyu".

Although he thought that people viewed him as a cold and serious person, his members told him otherwise.

He is actually naughty and likes to joke around and meet new people, which he was always shown with him having wide range of famous friend - the exclusive 97Liners, such as JungKook of BTS, Bambam and YuGyeom of GOT7, JaeHyun of NCT and Bang Chan of Stray Kids.

3. His Cleverness and Mathematical Thinking

There is a lot of evidence where MinGyu demonstrates his brain power in "Going Seventeen" episodes.

In the Escape Room, he had a good analytical thinking that made him almost able to solve the room puzzle without any hints ahead. He also has a good knowledge about business ventures, as shown in "Catch Stock" and "Good Offer", where he earned a lot of investment benefit for himself that allows him to choose his own teammate.

The only weakness MinGyu had was his lack of reasoning and argumentative power, which resulted in him always losing in the "Don't Lie" series.

4. A Good Housewife

Apparently, MinGyu is not only talented as an artist. He also made his debut as SEVENTEEN's chef several times.

In SEVENTEEN's "One Fine Day," he earned a title as "Housewife MinGyu," because he cooks for the members and for the staff as well. He also shows great knife skills for removing fish intestines and cleans out anchovies.

When dividing the members' individual tasks, MinGyu has always been chosen to work as a chef.

5. A Great Photographer & Director

There is no doubt that SEVENTEEN are "Self-Produced Idols," when all of their members have excellent other hard skills.

SEVENTEEN has released a magazine called "Going Magazine," where it features members' editorial photoshoots. One of the credits goes to MinGyu for playing a big role in capturing members' personalities with his photography skills.

One honorary mention was the self-produced group music video "Snap Shoot," where MinGyu became the producer, director, editor, and stylish for the music video.

Interesting, isn't it? Kim MinGyu is a hardworking man who has a lot of charm and talent that you need to stand beside his visuals. You can find out about him more by following SEVENTEEN!
