6 Worldwide HENECIA Share Their Experience About Being Fans Of Kim HyunJoong

Kim HyunJoong's fans, HENECIA, are celebrating his 18th debut anniversary and 12th solo debut anniversary this year. His journey in Korean entertainment industry counts in one of those rare artist who is a successful K-Pop idol singer and actor. He is so much talented. He is now a well known global artist because of his hard work, passion, dedication and self- confidence in his work.

I got an opportunity to do an interview with some fellow worldwide HENECIA fans through social media. Check out below to see what they said!

How did you become a fan of Kim HyunJoong? And why do you like his music?

In 2018, 1st I liked Kim HyunJoong because of his role as Yoon JiHoo on "Boys Over Flowers." After that, I watched "Goodbye Yoon JiHoo" Fan Meet... From that moment I totally fell for Kim HyunJoong and his Voice. I got to know that he is a K-Pop Idol, and about SS501. His voice is magical and mesmerizing... He also multi talented artist. After watched his YouTube videos and songs, His every actions inspired me a lot. He and his songs have some energy that can make us feel better if we had a bad day.

I met my gorgeous precious prince Kim HyunJoong back when he was touring in 2019 with the concert "Bio-Rhythm, The Symphony." I remember, one day, I was with my beloved husband and I was going through social media. All of a sudden, I stumbled with a video of a young man singing beautifully with a whole amazing symphony production. I didn’t understand a word of what he was singing because he was singing in another language but I couldn’t stop listening and all of a sudden, I started crying. My husband asked me what was wrong, and I said, “I don’t know who he is or what he is singing my Churris, (my nickname for my husband, that passed away a year ago, may he RIP) but he is for sure talking to my soul, and I feel so much that I’m crying but it’s a good crying. I told my husband, “If I ever go to a concert, I would definitely go to one of his!!" My husband told me he would take me to that concert himself. He was my accomplice and he supported me since the first moment I decided to follow Kim HyunJoong. I found out later that I was crying to 'A Smile In Wine'. My gorgeous precious is my one and only artist that I follow. I don’t care for any one else. He is so talented and complete that I don’t feel I need anyone else.

I became a fan because Kim HyunJoong came into my life at the hardest time I was going through. I’m a survivor of an mass shooting (Gilroy Garlic Festival - July 28, 2019). After that, I suffered PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), depression, anxiety and panic attacks. So I lost so many things, including my job, which made my depression worse, and also COVID started. It made my symptoms get worse and I fell on a deep depression. And that’s when I listened Kim HyunJoong's song 'Take My Hand'. That moment he saved me. I am not religious and I did not believe in miracles. Till that day, he is my angel on earth. His music, K-Dramas and his YouTube channel, where twice a week he shared videos with us, as been being my comfort and therapy. In my darkness days, he is my light.

I became his fan when my friend recommended that I watch "Boys Over Flowers" (BOF) during our secondary school years in 2013. At that time, my family didn't have an internet plan for me to watch YouTube, so I didn't know he also sings! I was and still am fascinated by his charismatic acting, especially in "Playful Kiss."

I first discovered Kim HyunJoong (during the COVID pandemic) while watching “Boys Over Flowers.” I became very curious about the GORGEOUS and mysterious guy who starred in "Boys Over Flowers" as JiHoo, and I wanted to know if he actually could play the violin and piano, so I searched online and learned that although he doesn’t play the violin, he does play the guitar, and was (or used to be) a singer with a group called SS501. I also liked the song 'Because I'm Stupid' from the "Boys Over Flowers" soundtrack, so I began to download all of his songs on Spotify. I started watching all movie/series available to me that featured Kim HyunJoong as well as listening to Kim HyunJoong’s music. Kim HyunJoong’s music caresses my soul, nourishes my body, and brings me infinite comfort (especially in rush hour traffic, or if I’m upset). Needless to say, I feel in love with this BEAUTIFUL man.

How did I become Kim HyunJoong's fan? About 2 and a half years ago, I found him on YouTube through his song 'Four Season'. At that time I was falling down because I lost the people closest to me by COVID. I could barely feel anything anymore because I was depressed by the situation, but somehow I was so carried away listening to that song that I cried. Then, I found out that it was Kim HyunJoong's song, a Korean artist that I used to know from his drama, "Boys Over Flowers." And since then, I started to find out more about him, followed all of his SNS accounts, and spent a lot of my time watching his videos on YouTube. Until now I'm still grateful that I got to know him… Why do I like Kim HyunJoong's music? Because Kim HyunJoong sings with his heart. When he sings, he talks to us and conveys the meaning of the song so deeply. And of course his angelic voice.

Did you ever attend his concerts on or offline? And can you share your experience with us?

I'm not that much lucky to meet him in offline concerts, but lucky enough to attend his many online concerts... If I watch his concert, I can't come out of that magical world for at least a week. His magical voice will keep playing in our head. Hopefully, one day I will meet him and experience his magical world in real (offline).

I started following Kim HyunJoong since then. My first concert online was "A BELL OF BLESSINGS," and from there, my husband would buy all the concerts for me. When I found out he was coming finally to the USA, my daughter and my family told me, “You have to go.” My daughter and I flew over 2,600 miles but it was so worth it! Kim HyunJoong is the most nice, humble and talented artist! We went to the New York and California concerts. However, California concert was the most amazing experience we had. I’m not sure if it was because there were more hispanic people there, but the ambiance was absolutely and unbelievable on fire! He came down from the stage twice and I got to touch him! It was just a dream come true form me. I got to meet him and had some moments so close to him and he only had a big smile on his face all the time, even winking to us! I just love that man so much! I really wish I could repeat that experience some day.

Yes! I attended 2 of his 3 concert here in USA. And since "A BELL OF BLESSINGS" online concert, I haven’t missed any of his online concerts. I have no regrets, it is fabulous experience, it was a dream come true for me to have met him here in USA. He always give everything at the stage. He is kind and caring with us. I can only say, he is AMAZING!

Yes, just this last April 28, 2023, I attended "The End of a Dream" concert at MetroTent Manila. It was my first-ever concert. Recently, I joined Twitter, and that's how I found out that Kim HyunJoong also sings and has a band named Gemini. I was fortunate to find out about his Manila concert just in time! I had a really fun time with new friends I met there, and most importantly, I saw Kim HyunJoong up close! He is so cool, handsome, and his voice is really good. I am so glad that I went to his concert, and I will definitely go again next time. He even did an encore twice and walked in the aisle twice too! I was shivering that I can't even hold my phone while recording him when he did it!

In 2022, I attended Kim HyunJoong’s June, July and August concerts (virtually from the East Coast of the USA). Although I am not a morning person, it was worth me getting up at 5:30 a.m. EST on a Saturday morning to share and spend time with Kim HyunJoong and the Gemini Band (who I also came to love). On Friday, November 11, 2022, I attended his Las Vegas concert. I had VIP seating and was in the seventh row from the stage. There was a catwalk that ran down the middle of the seating and I was in the fourth seat from the catwalk. Because I had VIP seating, I was able to participate in the group picture taking after the concert was over. Kim HyunJoong sat next to me, and I was ABSOLUTELY STUNNED at how GORGEOUS and BEAUTIFUL he is in person. Although we have all seen VERY BEAUTIFUL pictures of Kim HyunJoong, he is even more BEAUTIFUL in person. When he was walking to take his seat next to me, I was loudly saying how beautiful he is, and I put my hand on the empty seat next to me and told him to come here. When he sat down, I told him that he is GORGEOUS and he turned to me, said thank you and I replied, “Oh yes, you are BEAUTIFUL.” Just as the person was getting ready to take the picture, I leaned closer to Kim HyunJoong, and he chuckled. I smiled and laughed all night and for days to come, just thinking about how bold I was and thinking about the way he chuckled. This was one of the best nights of my life. The next morning on Saturday, November 12, 2022, my companion and I got up early and flew from Las Vegas to Anaheim, CA to attend Kim HyunJoong’s concert that night at the Groves of Anaheim. Again, we had VIP seating and were in the second row from the stage with no seats in front of us, so we were able to scream and dance during the entire concert. I screamed so much during the concerts on Friday and Saturday nights, I lost my speaking voice for five days.

Since knowing him, I have attended all the concerts he has online (I haven't had the chance to attend them offline though I really wanted to). It was great experience. He always goes above and beyond for his fans. There is excitement and a different atmosphere every time I watch the concert and the happiness is immeasurable.

If you are his fan and have never been to one of his concerts, either online or on-site, please give that present to yourself. It is something you will never regret. I wish and pray I will be given the opportunity to go to another concert on-site when he comes back to the USA, but if I’m unable to do it, I have been forever blessed to have met him, not even once but twice!! Kim HyunJoong is an AMAZINGLY SWEET and KIND man with a TENDER HEART, which transcends in each note he sings in his INCREDIBLE songs. Kim HyunJoong is PRECIOUS and BELOVED by his fans, HENECIA. Discovering Kim HyunJoong has really changed my life. Because I would like to better communicate with Kim HyunJoong (and my other Korean idols) if I’m ever again given the opportunity in the future, I have started taking Korean language classes. My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE song by Kim HyunJoong's 'Four Seasons', which I feel is underrated. As soon as he begins singing the first chords of 'Four Seasons', my heart literally skips an extra beat. All my LOVE to Kim HyunJoong.
