A Filipino TREASURE MAKER Talks About Her Favorite Group TREASURE & Her Bias Park JeongWoo

Ji is a huge fan of TREASURE since their debut and this Filipino TREASURE MAKER is all ready to tell you her story on how she joined the fandom and why she loves them. Her bias is none other that Park JeongWoo, "whose smile could light up the world".

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hi, I’m Ji and I am a TREASURE MAKER from the Philippines.

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I have been following TREASURE since their debut. I fell in love with Park JeongWoo’s voice when I first heard him sing 'When We Were Young' by Adele on their survival show "YG Treasure Box". However, even though I knew them early into their career, I was busy with my early college days during the time so I only became more focused on them in early 2022. I guess we can say I was a casual listener first before I had the time to fall deeper for the members, their dynamics, and their talents.

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

It is a given that they are talented and I also really like how they really set the stage on fire when performing. It’s like they are saying that the stage is theirs and no one can take it away from them. Their passion is remarkable. But aside from that, I grew to love them more because of their personalities as seen on their reality shows. In these reality shows, you can see who they really are beyond the performances.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

I have always had a soft spot for JeongWoo since predebut but honestly, when I decided to dive deeper into stanning them, it was Mashiho who caught my attention. What is there not to love about him? Aside from talents and visuals, he is kind and generous towards the members and their fans. Everybody has some sort of fondness towards Mashiho because of his good-natured personality.

Who is your bias, and why?

I have multiple biases in TREASURE but my main bias is JeongWoo, whose smile could light up the world. He is an all-rounder with a very soothing voice and unique dancing style. He can make people around him roll on the floor laughing as well because he is one of the funniest members of the group.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

For the title track, I recommend 'MY TREASURE'! The vocals are majestic and the rap parts are chic. It also has a healing meaning. My favourite part goes, “안되면 어때? 다시 시작해” which means “If it doesn’t work out, so what? Just start over!” which is very inspiring for me as someone who is perfectionist and is afraid to make mistakes.

As for the B-side, I recommend 'SLOWMOTION'. It gives a beautiful message. It may sound like a love song at first but if you listen to it closely, you will realise that it means that even if the step you take is small, it already has a huge effect in your life. The song is deep and inspirational.

Aside from the songs mentioned above, I would also like to take this opportunity to mention another B-side song of TREASURE called 'Darari' which went viral on various social media platforms.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

I recommend JeongWoo’s "YG Treasure Box" introductory video with a short interview and a performance clip combined. In the interview, you can already feel his bubbly personality, and in the performance clip, you can hear his touching voice.

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

For this question, I want to recommend a lighter feel of performance so I will recommend this really fun stage of their B-side 'U' from their EP "The Second Step: Chapter One". It is a one take stage video which looks like it was so much fun to film.

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

This question is hard to answer because there are so many meaningful lyrics to choose from. Maybe I’ll pick Yoon JaeHyuk and Bang YeDam’s part in 'It’s Okay' where they go, “날개가 없어도 어디든 갈 수 있어요 어두운 밤이 지나면 밝은 내일이 오겠죠” which in English means, “Even if I don’t have wings, I can go anywhere. Brightness comes after the dark night, tomorrow will come, right?” I love this part deeply that I had it printed and framed for me to display on my shelf.

Are there any words from the members you would like to share?

I would like to share a comment from my bias JeongWoo almost two years ago. It goes, “There will be hard days and happy days, but don't worry because TREASURE is here!” This is important to me because I can feel that he means it and that the support is not one-sided. Even though my favourite artists don’t know me personally, it is comforting to have mutual encouragements and inspirations. I am grateful to have idols who root for me as well even through simple comments like this.

For you, what is your bias' best stage outfits until now? Please share a picture or fan cam.

My favourite would be JeongWoo’s outfit in their 'Really Really' cover stage during their "TRACE" concert in Seoul. He looked so much like a prince. He looked ethereal.

What is your biggest dream for your favorite group/bias aside from being happy and healthy?

I really want him to release a solo song! He has the most soothing voice ever and I hope they allow him to showcase this through a solo song with his own colour.

If you go to only one, would you go to a concert, fan meeting, or fan sign?

I would choose fan sign. I have tried all the above mentioned events but with different groups. I have never joined a fan sign with TREASURE (I mean, I tried once but I lost so… maybe next time!).

Do you have a dream subunit/unit?

My bias JeongWoo with THE BOYZ's SunWoo! Both are my biases and they are both beautiful and talented human beings. I personally think SunWoo’s striking rap flow along with JeongWoo’s comforting voice would make a stunning piece.

Can you recall a moment where you cried/laughed with your bias?

Oh, I have one! JeongWoo graduated high school just recently (February 9, 2023) and needless to say, all the members were there to support him! When JeongWoo was called on stage to receive an award, the members cheered for him as loud as they can, which made JeongWoo laugh of embarrassment. I laughed along but it is more of a laugh of endearment. They are so cute and their love for each other is overflowing. I’m so happy that my bias is receiving so much love not only from his fans but also from his members. I am just glad they all have each other to rely on.

What is your favorite group/bias' influence on your daily life?

I could list down a few things because they are pretty influential in my life but the biggest influence that TREASURE members have on me is probably the grit to tackle any obstacle thrown at me by the universe and to have confidence while doing so. They helped me build my self-esteem and made me internalise that life will always have both ups and downs and that’s okay. They made me feel that it’s okay to crumble as long as you gather the strength to get back up and that every step is meaningful albeit how small it is.
