An ARMY From Ireland Talks About Her Favorite Group BTS & Her Bias RM

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other's stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

Carrie from Ireland is the next fan to answer our questions. She is a fan of BTS and more particularly of RM! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hello! I'm Carrie from Ireland.

How and when did you enter the fandom?

My older sister told me about them back in 2014. It all started here what they did for people and also from their influence and also out of my own curiosity. I listened to their music videos from their album "Dark & Wild" and then become a fan after hearing them.

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

They are the seven most kind and caring people I've seen in my whole life. Their songs are so full of meaning, and emotion, and also have so much visual. Each of the seven members have their very own style when singing. I don't feel the same connection to any other K-Pop group like the way I feel with BTS. This is why they are my favorite group.

Who caught your attention first and why?

NamJoon (RM). His writing skills, but also his leadership skills, he can be kind and also caring too.

Who is your bias, and why?

My bias is RM, because of his kindness, dedication, encouragement and also generosity. I love all seven members with the same amount of love.

Can you recommend a title track and b-side track for new fans?

I really recommend as a B-side track 'Baepsae' and title track would be 'Spring Day'.

Can you recommend a fan cam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

In RM's Vlog, he looked very happy and also calm, it shows how happy he looked while doing something he loved.

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

To me this performance is so fun and exciting that it would get you to join in with them and sing along.

For me, my bias is...

Like my best friend, Even if I don't know him, in person he always helps me in some way to figure things out, but also helps me to stay calm and happy.

Can you share with readers the first-ever picture you've saved of your bias on your phone?

I saved this because, I love lying down outside in the grass but also in a flower field.

Can you recall a moment where you cried/laughed with your bias?

The "Mono V Live" video. The way he explained and also the meaning behind the album to with touching words made me understand more about him.

Is there some food you saw your bias group eat that made you crave it too?

Samgyupsal and the classic Jjajang Ramen.
When I heard about them, it caught my attention, and got me thinking about what they would be like.

What is your favorite group/bias' influence on your daily life?

To never give up on my dreams, and to never listen to haters and to always keep fighting!

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

To be able to share and talk with other's who like the same thing as I do.

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?

They can say and think what they like, they do not bother me at all.Everyone has their own opinion to things.
