According to research and even stated in the article by The New York Times, every Korean man aged from 18 to 35 years old must complete their service in the armed forces. Due to the different branches and different needs that the military requires to function, train and prepare its individuals there is numerous positions someone can take. For example, JiHoon (also known as P.O of Block B) recently completed his military service in the Marines, while GOT7 member and solo artist Jay B served the army as a social service worker. 

No matter their status, whether they be a comedian, singer-songwriter, idol, dancer, celebrity or another public figure, they must enlist. 

Similarly, Lee HoSeok (WonHo) and Highline Entertainment announced on November 15, 2022 that the artist successfully attended and completed his basic military service training, and later starts his service as a public social service worker.

After the uncertainty went from 2019 to 2020, it soon became to clear to fans around the globe that WonHo will begin his own new path as a solo artist and dancer. His company, Highline Entertainment created numerous social media accounts, posted profile pictorials and his official logo, in preparation for his solo. 

Following this, WonHo released the R&B-EDM - track album and popular fan-favorite "Love Synonym Part 1: Right for Me." The album contained tracks 'Open Mind' (Title Track), 'I Just', 'Lost in Paradise', 'Losing You' (Korean Ver.), 'Interlude: Runway', 'With You', 'Open Mind' (English Ver.), and 'Losing You'. WonHo was credited for the lyrics in this album. 

After the said release, many fans stumbled across and was told of the channel known as "ohhoho," and and it became known that WonHo behind the channel, as he informed fans about the vlog channel. The channel was created on April 10, 2020 and was quick to become a place of comfort for fans during the time he's serving the country. WonHo is actively posting pre-filmed and pre-prepared content, like special clips for 'I Just,' which was a track featured on his debut album.

The channel features from behind the scenes videos, mukbangs, food and wine reviews, and specially curated playlist, like videos featuring songs choosen by WonHo himself for fans (WENEEs) to drive to or listen to on a late Sunday evenings. The amount is endless and has a variety that allows you to watch the content that fits you best. 

Since his debut, WonHo has reached many important milestones as an artist when it comes to charting, increasing followers monthly, and making a handful of different releases in different music genres. This showcases his ability to diversify and adapt, from the classic R&B and easy EDM, to alternative, pop or even indie. WonHo showcased that in the following: "Love Synonym Part 2: Right for Us" (Mini Album, 2021, Title Track - 'Lose'), 'LOSE' (Japanese Ver.) (Single, 2021), "Blue Letter," a popular fan favourite, (Mini Album, 2021, Title Track - 'BLUE'), 'ON THE WAY' (Japanese Release, Single, 2021), 'WHITE MIRACLE' (Single, 2021), 'Obsession' (Single, 2022), 'Facade' (Mini Album, 2022, Title Track - 'CRAZY'), 'Don't Hesitate' (2022, Single) and lastly, "Bittersweet" (2022, Single Album, Title Track - 'Don't Regret & On & On').  

Apart from WonHo's discography, fans can't help but request for the artist's official public playlist on his Artist Profile on Spotify. The playlist features handpicked songs from WonHo to fans. Many fans use the playlist as an alternative comfort during his time away. 

Despite the tough time that is the military hiatus, many fans still push through and are constantly giving their support to Lee HoSeok despite his absence, proving the idol's strong connection with his fanbase.
