Are you also curious about fellow K-Pop fans?! Let's hear their stories and interests in Kpopmap Fan Interview Project.

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other' stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

M.K is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Canada. She is a fan of TXT and more particularly of TaeHyun! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hi! My name is M.K and I’m a TXT fan from Canada :>.

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I officially joined the fandom on March 25, 2019 after watching the 'Crown' music video. I find it funny how I still remember the exact date of when I joined the fandom but how could I forget? It was one of the happiest days of my life!

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

In my eyes, Tomorrow X Together are more than just a musical group. I see them as my best friends. They’re like a warm embrace on a cold winter night. They’re like a positive glow of light, that even in very dark times, they help people look for the good in things. They’re a ray of hope and happiness. I could go on and on but I think what this all boils down to is, they’re my comfort. My home.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

TaeHyun caught my attention at first. I thought he had a lovely smile.

Who is your bias, and why?

It was very hard to choose a bias because I love them all so much but TaeHyun holds a very special place in my heart. I love him dearly. I think TaeHyun is my bias because something about him just makes me feel so comfortable and at home. I think he just has that kind of effect on people, he’s someone who has made my days joyful.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

This is actually a hard one because they literally have no bad songs so I want to recommend them all. But my favourite title track is 'Can’t You See Me?'.

My favourite B-side track is 'Fairy of Shampoo' ^-^.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

I’d recommend TaeHyun’s cover of ‘Let Me’ by ZAYN (he has a beautiful voice I could listen to him sing all day).

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

I’d recommend TXT’s cover of ‘Sherlock (Clue + Note) by SHINee (all their covers are good but this is my favourite).

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

“ 어느 날 내게 나타난 천사
데려가 줘 너의 hometown
I know it’s real, I can feel it ”
— '0x1=LOVESONG'

What is your favorite group/bias' influence on your daily life?

These boys are my happiness. Their music brings comfort to many people and I feel like MOAs can relate to their lyrics in so many ways. TXT brought out the best in me, I’ve gained so much confidence ever since I joined the fandom. Each member is unique and they aren’t afraid to be themselves and because I was so lost and confused in my own life, I clung to that. Because of them I found little bits of myself.

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

Waiting for teasers or comebacks with other fans. I think the funniest thing was when we were all guessing when the new logo for the latest comeback would be announced and then it was announced unexpectedly. I also love coming up with theories about the storyline and guessing what kind of concept we’ll get. It’s really fun and the fans have lots of creative ideas and opinions.

What type of concept do you prefer: cute, dark, sexy, etc?

I prefer something I can relate to. Something with deep, emotional lyrics, and powerful choreography but I love music videos with dark concepts — eerie storylines are the best. I imagine what it would be like as a horror movie or novel.

Can you describe your bias in only one word?

There are so many words I can use to describe TaeHyun. Like, so many! But I always say TaeHyun feels like home. He gives so much hope and solace to those who are struggling and I’m sure he doesn’t realise but that in itself is possibly one of the most valuable things in this world. Having that effect on people is so rare, yet in him, it is so natural and so abundant.
So basically what I’m trying to say is the one word I would use to describe TaeHyun is… comforting.

Name 1 quality in your bias that you wish you had.

As someone who has trouble maintaining a good balance in their personal life and school life I tend to lose my passion for things because I feel discouraged. I wish I had his passion. TaeHyun is passionate and emotional about the things he likes. I see him as someone who holds onto everything he believes in, even if no one else does.

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?

I think because TXT debuted under a well known, successful company people believe they had it easy but they have worked hard to get to where they are now!

You can also add a message/letter to your bias or show it on a message scrapbook.

Dear Kang TaeHyun,
I was 14 when you first came into my life. It was just a few days after my birthday actually, and you sang your way into my heart. 3 years later and I am still eternally grateful to you. I am becoming the person I’ve always wanted to be and you’ve been a witness of this transformation. Perhaps more than a witness. I realize your presence, near or far, has helped me in more ways than you could possibly know. The world we live in is a mess, it is despairing at times and chaotic at best, but your presence has helped me in each step of the way, since the moment we met, in one way or another. Loving you has opened my eyes–and my heart and soul–to so much more; I love writing, I’ve become a very emotional person ever since I started writing my own stories and poetry, I expanded my horizons, learned new things, made more friends, met different people (I’ve met so many cool moas in this fandom), I crave new challenges and set new goals every day. I realize some might wonder what those things have to do with you, but that’s for me to know, I don’t think I would ever be able to explain it fully.
Thank you for coming into my life, thank you for being here, thank you for being you… and thank you for not giving up on moas, on me. After 3 years of many magical and loving moments, I have not much else to say (even though I’ve said it many times), except… Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Forever and always,
Miski (M.K)
