There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other's stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

Jinly is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from China and is a fan of BLANK2Y, and particularly of U. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hello everyone,my name is Jinly and I'm a 23 year-old teacher from China.
I'm a fan of BLANK2Y and the member U( Sun HengYu) is my bias!

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I started to know them since the end of last year when I heard Louis and SungJun are about to debut together.
I instantly followed them during their pre-debut for BLANK2Y and became a K2YWE all the way up until now.

What are the reasons why this rookie group is your favorite group?

They persevered to keep chasing their dreams. They take every chances to interact with K2YWEs. Also, they can talk in English/Chinese/Japanese/Korean so that international K2YWEs can understand them so well.

What do you think differentiates this rookie group from the others?

Some of the members plucked up the courage to restart and some of them seized their first chance to get on the stage.
But all of them have the same goal and belief to go further together forever. What's more, they have confidence in making K2YWEs happy.

Who caught your attention at first and why? Did you know any members prior to their debut?

To be honest, it definitely was U (Sun HengYu) who caught my attention at first except for the members I already knew. U's smile makes my whole world brighter every time I see him.
I knew Louis before he debuted from the survival reality show and knew SungJun when he was a trainee at another company.
Therefore, it was exciting for me to hear that they were going to debut together.

Do you have a bias yet? If yes, tell us why.

Yes, my bias is U (Sun HengYu), the Chinese member of BLANK2Y.
The first time I saw him my heart leaps up, then I knew! He is the ONE!
Fatefully, my birthday is on the same day as his. I've never met someone with the same birthday as me in my life until I met him.
Not just because he's from China like me, but also because he's so talented in dancing, playing guitar, keyboards, saxophone...
He is so hardworking that he even got blisters on his hands. I've seen how much he's grown as an artist on the stage in this half year!

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

For a title track I recommend 'Thumbs Up' and a B-side track recommendation is 'Constellation'.
It is their debut title track which makes my blood boil every time I listen to it.
Also, the vocal harmony of the fan song is so amazing that makes me tearful.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or other from your favorite group or bias?

Everyone of you have to watch these, enjoy^^.

What are the things you are looking for in their future activities?

I really want to have the experience of going to a concert or a fanmeeting offline.
Because of the pandemic, we foreign K2YWE might only attend the online events, but we still could feel their incredible energy. So I would really love to see our boys in person too.

Are there any words from the members you would like to share?

U: "Not just the 9 members of us, but I think the fans who are waiting for us are also our members, so we'll work hard together to show the best version of ourselves."
They always say that K2YWEs are members of BLANK2Y and truly they treat us like their family, which it's very moving and heartwarming!!!

For you, what is your bias' best stage outfits until now? Please share a picture or fan cam.

What is your biggest dream for your favorite group/bias aside from being happy and healthy?

The most important is wishing BLANK2Y to be 1st on Korean music chart, 1st on Oricon and 1st on Billboard.
And for my bias U, I hope he can have his own solo stage and have contents that belong to his style.

If you go to only one, would you go to a concert, fan meeting, or fan sign?

Concert! That's the stage where they can perform most of their songs and choreography to show their capabilities and charm. They shine the most when they sweat on stage.

If you have a chance to cook for the group, what will you cook for them?

Wow that's a big challenge for me. But I can try cooking some classic Chinese cuisines such as Pork Chops with Sweet Sauce, Stir-fried Rice Noodles with Beef, and Jiaozi (dumplings) stuffed with pork, which I am good at making.

Do you have a dream subunit/unit?

Well... Then let me dream of some 01 liner K-Pop idols, such as YeChan from OMEGA X, JunSeo from WEi and HyunSuk from CIX...
Just imagine everyone showing themselves together, what a beautiful stage could it be.

Describe them in 5 words

Genuine. Capable. Aggressive. Enthusiastic. Optimistic.

Can you recall a moment where you cried/laughed with your bias?

I cried when I saw him cried on the debut showcase stage. It was my first time to cry so hard with him. Because until then, he has always made me happy and made me laugh.

What about your bias do you relate to the most?

Fatefully, we both are Chinese and I have the same birth date as U's!

BLANK2Y our boys, I've been here since the beginning and I'll be with BLANK2Y until the end.
Please keep doing it as you are. BLANK2Y is 9 and will always be. Each one of you are amazing AND have special talent which makes all K2YWE love you guys a lot.
