Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

A HIYILY (Hwang InYoup’s Family) from the Philippines 🇵🇭 who always give utmost love & support to actor Hwang InYoup, the New Hallyu Star! ♥

 

Who is your favorite Korean actor/actress? And how and when did you become a fan?

The Korean Actor who I adore the most is Hwang InYoup. Everything started last December 2020, I just left my previous job back then so I had all the time to scroll through different SNS. Here and there I always see random clips of him from “True Beauty” hence I got interested so I did more research about him and finally gave the drama a try! In just span of a day or two, I’m totally hooked with him. Since then, I’m head over heels for him.. 😭😆💕

 

What are the reasons why you love your favorite actor?

As we all know, his visual is definitely dazzling. But there’s more than that. For me, his genuine personality stood out the most. The more I get to know him, the more I fall for him. The way he cherishes and put everyone around him first before himself, the way he treats his co-workers and fans has a very special place in my heart. Most importantly, he is a family oriented person! He also started his acting career late but since it was his greatest dream, he pursued it wholeheartedly. With that, his perseverance and dedication is something I look up & respect too.

 

Can you recommend dramas or movies starring your favorite actor for new fans?

Of course, who wouldn’t know Han SeoJun from “True Beauty”? It’s a must watch! But a friendly reminder, prepare your hearts. 🤭 Hwang InYoup is a rookie actor who started his acting career last 2018 hence to date, he only has few dramas but one absolutely has to watch ALL of it!

Moreover, please look forward to his 2 upcoming dramas this year (2022) namely, “The Sound of Magic” which is his Netflix Original series debut drama as well as “Why Her?” his first ever drama as MAIN LEAD! 🥳

 

P.S. He also has a short film entitled “Swimming Bird” that is yet to be released online.

 

Do you have an all-time favorite scene? Can you describe it or share a video?

My all-time fave scene would definitely be Han SeoJun’s Okey Dokey dance! 😆 This scene was so hilarious that make it the talk of the town for several months! In case you don’t know, the whole idea is conceptualized by Hwang InYoup himself!

 

Apart from that, there are couple of scenes which I love most from “True Beauty” such as all the “roar scenes” between him and actress KaYoung. And surely will never get over their photoshoot scene too!

 

What was your favorite answer given by your favorite actor in an interview?

“Each person has a pace of their own. Every person has a different timing of happiness. Don’t be too hard on yourself. If you wait a little bit longer, I’m sure that there are a lot of good things waiting for you.” — Hwang InYoup (Naver Now, Dec 2020)

 

The above answer was his advice given to someone who loses hope due to being jobless or lost for quite a long time already. Personally, I see his advice as a quote which can be very inspiring for everyone. We can’t deny, there are times when we doubt ourselves and question our situations. I also experience that but I always found myself rewatching the clip and having more self courage resulting to a more positive outlook.

 

What is your favorite actor’s influence on your daily life or yourself?

I can say that he’s one the greatest inspiration in my day to day life. Because of his genuine personality, I always try to be the best version of myself without paying attention to what others will say. That I am doing things because I want to do it and not because I have to do it.

 

On another hand, he also mentioned back then that eversince elementary his mom told him to always put on sunscreen. So he think it’s one of the reason why he looks very young for his age. With that, sunscreen has always been my best friend too. 😆

 

For Kpopmap readers who are not familiar with Korean dramas/movies yet, please tell us what makes Korean actors and Korean dramas/movies attractive to you.

I don’t think a further explanation is needed with regard to this because it only takes one great drama for them to understand why a lot of people are attracted to Korean Dramas/Movies compared to others. As they say, to see is to believe.

 

Nonetheless, I can say that most if not all Korean Dramas/Movies are undeniably very well written. And actor’s versatility is the cherry on top!

 

What genre do you want your favorite actor to appear in? What’s the reason?

I’ve always wanted to see actor Hwang InYoup to play as a villain in a thriller, crime or action drama! Whenever I watch those kind of drama, I can always see that he’ll be able to pull off those roles. We’ve seen him act as bad boy and swordsman but I know there’s still a big amount of talent we’re yet to see only if he’s given a chance to take on those kind of roles.

 

Not to mention, the drama he wanted to try is action as well!

 

What are the actors you would like your favorite actor to act with? What’s the reason?

There’s a bunch of actors I wanted him to act with 😭 But to name a few, it’s gonna be IU, Chae SooBin, Jisoo, Han JiHyun, Han SoHee and Irene.

 

In terms of male actors; Ju JiHoon, Jo InSung, Song SeungHoon, Kim WooBin, Lee JoonGi, Hyun Bin, Kang DongWon, Lee JongSuk.

 

Most of them are his role models too!

 

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite actor?

Actor Hwang InYoup portrayed numerous student roles and some people are taking it in a negative way.

 

I just wanted to say that isn’t it a great thing to be able to act for a student role even in your thirties? It shouldn’t be used to drag a one fine man down like him who just started his acting career. Rather, should be commended! Like, not everyone in their thirties can give justice to student characters. Not everyone look like a teenager in their thirties. Afterall, we’re talking about the drama industry. Everything is possible. It’s just not about the role you’re playing. The most important thing is how you’ll be able to convey the heart of your character. Hopefully, everyone can widen their understanding even just a little and not take everything against to someone who always put his heart to his craft.
