Arlyn from Malaysia is the next fan to answer our questions about their favorite actor- Seo InGuk! Check out how she became his fan, the reasons why she is a fan, the dramas they recommend, and much more insights about Seo InGuk.

 

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

My name is Arlyn. I’m @Myulmang87 on Instagram. I’m 26 years old this year and I’m from Malaysia…

 

Who is your favorite Korean actor/actress? And how and when did you become a fan?

My favorite Korean actor is Seo InGuk. I knew him since his acting debut in drama (“Love Rain”) along with Jang KeunSuk and YoonA. He played a support role in the drama, which really caught my attention because of his great satoori (accent)! He succeeded in delivering his character! But I became a real fan when he came again as a second male lead in drama (“Master’s Sun”) as Kang Woo! He’s so sexy, how can I resist someone so attractive and cute like him! I know there’s a lot of actors who are all good looking but he’s different! With the mole under his eyes… That’s the main part of his appearance that I fell in love with the most, along with his cute dimple! Also we, his fans (Heartrider) have a title for him which is “Pacific Shoulder” because he has a wide sexy back, it’s as wide as the Pacific ocean, which looks so comfortable to lie on! 😚😅 He’s not just a good actor but also a good singer! He has a very nice voice, so soothing to my ears! He can sing, rap, composing and dance! What else can’t he do. He’s perfect! That’s how I became a fan of him since then and until now!

 

What are the reasons why you love your favorite actor?

I love Seo InGuk so much because for me he’s the best actor ever! He acted in many types of roles, which not many actors can pull off successfully like him! For example, he can be serious damn sexy as MyulMang in “Doom At Your Service”. He can also be so freakin’ cute such as little kitten as Louis in “Shopping King Louis”, or a mysterious man with a sad tragic life story as MooYoung in “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes”, along with Jung SoMin. I’m sure if you watch all his dramas, you can tell the differences between all of his characters. Each were so perfectly delivered by him! The way he talked! Also when there are crying scenes, it always gets me crying as well because it truly came from his heart! I can feel it! He’s so into his characters. Also Seo InGuk’s co-star in “The Smile Has left Your Eyes” Park SungWoong once said that InGuk has “thousands faces” because he was impressed with his expressions~.

 

Can you recommend dramas or movies starring your favorite actor for new fans?

I would like to recommend “Doom At Your Service” because this one is my all time most favorite among his dramas! I love his chemistry with Park BoYoung and, we, the fandom of this couple (BboIng Nation) still exist untill now and both Bbo (Park BoYoung) and InGuk know about our existence! 🦊🐰 Second is “Cafe Minamdang”, which is still ongoing every Mondays and Tuesdays. His chemistry with all the cast is so crazy and funny! Here you all can also see the variety of expressions from Seo InGuk! Next is “Shopping King Louis”. If you want to see super extra cute version of Seo InGuk, you must watch this drama! Next, I would recommend his movie from last year “Pipeline” where he co-stars with another “Doom At Your Service” cast Lee SoohYuk, Bae DaBin, and his bff and director of his new song MV ‘My Love’, Um MunSuk. This was his second movie years after “No Breathing” with Lee JongSuk and YuRi of Girls’ Generation! But if you have plenty of time, I’ll be so grateful if you could watch all his dramas and movies! 😁

 

Do you have an all-time favorite scene? Can you describe it or share a video?

My most favorite is the kiss in the rain scene from the drama “Doom At Your Service” in the ending scene of episode 6, where he kissed Tak DongKyung (played by Park BoYoung) on the top of the stairs near DongKyung’s house while it rains at that time. There, InGuk as MyulMang, finally realizes that he has feelings for DongKyung, who he says is the only human who can see and interact with him like that. He agrees to let DongKyung fall in love with him so he can disappear from the world and bring destruction to the world, as she wished because she felt unsatisfied with the world, being diagnosed with a cancer which left her 100 days to live! Their kissing scene was the most real for us! I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this already! 😅 Even untill now, we still talk and post edited videos of that scene! Also, in the behind scene, they looked so comfortable to each other! That made the scene look even morer eal and unforgetable~. Seo InGuk is known as a good kisser. He also won an award for it on “tVN10 Awards”! The way he kiss is just so … I don’t know what to say~ I wonder how it feels kissing the king of kisser! 😅

 

What was your favorite answer given by your favorite actor in an interview?

I always love the way he answers all the questions given to him in interviews. But this one was the most recent answer he gave in The Swoon interview for “Cafe Minamdang” promotion where he said “When I realize or hear that I have positively impacted someone, I feel a strong sense of responsibility. And that feels so nice.” I think it’s kind of a burden when people said that you’ve became their inspiration because you’ll always have to be well-mannered and etc., but I’m sure he’s born with a good personality that makes people fall for him. He also said this in an interview “I think I live a good life that’s why I am always surrounded by good people,” which I think is true. He deserves all the love he receives! He’s also a good son and brother to his parents and sister! He’s never ashamed to talk about what his parents are doing for a living, even since he was in ‘Superstar K’ untill now. He’s so proud of them!

 

What is your favorite actor’s influence on your daily life or yourself?

The thing that Seo InGuk does that influences me a lot in this life is living such a humble life. He’s always down to earth, never ashamed of his roots. He never gave up on achieving his dreams! He once was bashed by netizens, but he never let those things let him down! That’s how strong his spirits are! He’s so talented, always try everything he possibly can! He’s now a well known singer-actor! Also, he became a producer for the OST of his own drama “Cafe Minamdang”! He is also interested in directing recently and he said he’s working on writing scenarios now. His spirits really influences me a lot! When he’s into something, he will try to achieve it! That’s what we love about him! He’s also kind to everyone!

Korean dramas nowadays are so various! What makes them loved by everyone is not only because the actors and actress are good looking but also are really good in acting and they deliver various feelings, expressions, and they’re so unique! The genres of Korean dramas are not easy to find in other countries! What I love the most is the fantasy genre! They really have good and brilliant ideas of making such dramas!

 

What genre do you want your favorite actor to appear in? What’s the reason?

I want Seo InGuk to appear in more fantasy dramas because he did his very best in “Doom At Your Service”. I still can’t get enough of him as MyulMang… If there’s a chance, we (fans) want a season 2 for “Doom At Your Service”! 😁 We want to see him more in the same projects with Park BoYoung! Also I think acting as a villain will suit him. We’re really looking forward to his upcoming movie “Project Wolf Hunting”. His eyes can do variety of expression which is so impressive!!! 😍

What’s your favourite 2022 moment involving your favourite actor?

His album comeback after 5 years really got us teary and so happy because it’s been so long seeing him on stage singing. Also the fanmeeting In both Korea and Japan, in which he put a lot of efforts to make it happen~. I’m so happy seeing him having so much fun, talking, playing and creating lots of great memories with all the fans along with his bff, Kwon SooHyun.

 

If you could spend the day with them, what would you want to do together?

I remembered him saying this in an interview that he doesn’t need to pick countries or far places to enjoy or relax. Just going to a place with a sea where he can swim is relaxing. That’s more than enough for him… That’s what I would do for him…
