There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other' stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

Iqra is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Pakistan. She is a fan of BTS! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hello everyone! I am Iqra from Pakistan.

How and when did you enter the fandom?

Well it's a long story... Actually, I was never a fan of K-Pop. I couldn't understand how people can love songs when they can't understand the lyrics. Well, I knew about BTS and they were quite famous. So I once tried to listen to them. I remember listening to 'Fake Love'. I just listened to half of it and I was like "No... They must be good but not my type". And then, in early 2019, one of my friend convinced me to listen to 'Boy With Luv' which was new at that time. And I listened to that and I fell in love with the choreography, rap, vocals and beats. And then, I started to listen to them more and here I am xD.

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

I love BTS due to their catchy songs, their friendship, and their hard work. It's clear that how far they have come. And they are perfect example of the saying "Never underestimate smaller K-Pop agencies". I didn't became their fan due to their popularity, but because I actually loved their songs.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

It was definitely V. As I watched the 'Boy With Luv' MV, and as soon as V turned round, that was the moment he caught my attention due to his expressions.

Who is your bias, and why?

I don't have any bias. But yeah I actually enjoy watching TaeHyung (V) the most in their performances, due to his expressions and how he always make sure to entertain the audience, as well as himself. But yeah, I must say all of them are extraordinary.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

Ah it's hard. I think 'Dynamite' is very catchy song. So I will recommend that.

And for B-side track, it's 'Let Go', and 'Louder Than Bombs'.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

I recommend J-Hope's 'DNA' fancam. It shows his amazing dance skills.

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

All of their performances are entertaining. But I would recommend their 'Black Swan' performance from "MMA 2020".

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

"If you look at it in a certain way. It's harder loving yourself than loving someone else.
Honestly, let's admit what have to admit the standards you put out are harsher on yourself.

What type of concept do you prefer: cute, dark, sexy, etc?

Well, it depends on the idols, on how good they can carry the concept. But I prefer cute and then dark concept.

For me, my favorite group is...

For me, BTS are like my older brothers xD. Yes.

Name a variety show/content show that you would love to see your favorite group on? Tell us why.

Well they have been on "Men on a Mission", but I would like to see them again there. Also, I want to see them do a relay dance too :/.

If you could spend the day with them, what would you want to do together?

Um, maybe play some outdoor games.

If your favorite group were to collab with another idol, who do you think would be best?

BLACKPINK? Haha it would be amazing. It will rock the K-Pop world.

What is your favorite group/bias' influence on your daily life?

As I said, they are the perfect example of not to underestimate anyone. They showed to everyone that when you are passionate about something, you can achieve that. Just believe in yourself and never give up. So that's the influence.

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?

Of course there are many. First of all many think that "BTS wear makeup". But not only BTS, but every guy these days wears makeup. "And they are overrated." No they are not. They worked very hard to reach where they are now. And most of the time why BTS receives hate is due to some toxic armies. I have seen this many times that most of the people don't like BTS due to their over-possessive fans. As we represent BTS, so many people think BTS are also like their fans. But no. They respect other artists alot. And they are very kind. And not all ARMYs are like that. The real ARMYs are doing alot of good things, like planting and donations etc.

Um, I just want to say thanks for introducing me to the K-Pop world. And for showing that nothing is impossible. And that music has no language. You can still feel the music even though you don't understand it. And keep going guys and I wish you good luck with your future activities. Thanks :).
