        "Queen Of Tears" is inarguably one of the hottest K-Dramas currently on air, making a case for one of the best dramas of 2024 so far. With such a fantastic main couple in Kim SooHyun and Kim JiWon, it's hard to look away for even a second. Audiences have been captivated by their electrifying chemistry, the immersive storyline, and the ripe comedic moments sprinkled in between.

        While many eyes are focused on the main leads, the rest of the cast deserves some praise too. Most notably, Kwak DongYeon has been excellent in his role of Hong SooCheol, younger brother to Hong HaeIn (Kim JiWon). While his character might have a few shortcomings, he has a touch of pure innocence that warms your heart. Combined with his familial love for his wife and son, SooCheol is a character you find yourself unknowingly rooting for.

        With Kwak DongYeon at the helm of this character, it's easy to support SooCheol when time calls for it.

        Kwak DongYeon knew early on that he wanted to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry. And while he's a great actor now, he originally wanted to pursue music and become a renowned artist. He moved to Seoul during his teens where he simultaneously took music and acting lessons.

        As he continued to strive towards his dream, he was able to take his first big step in 2012 through the drama, "My Husband Got A Family". It became an award-winning series with Kwak DongYeon's efforts being recognized, earning him the Child Actor Award at the "Korea Drama Awards".

        After experiencing such success, he continued to pursue acting, earning multiple supporting and guest roles. While he didn't stand front and center, he continuously wowed audiences with his natural talent.

         

        Rising To Success

        The foundations he laid early on paid off, as it helped him to gain the experience needed for where he is today. In 2016, Kwak DongYeon made a change, mesmerizing viewers in his portrayal of Kim ByeongYeon from "Love In The Moonlight". He made a fearsome bodyguard, being a symbol of manliness while also providing comedic relief at all the right moments.

        When talking about Kwak DongYeon, fans also can't forget about his time as Yeon WooYoung sunbae on "My ID Is Gangnam Beauty". He was a source of shining light to both his juniors and viewers alike. And while his feelings weren't reciprocated in the drama, many fell in love with both the character and actor behind him.

        He became the reason audiences were bent over in laughter, tearing up in sympathy, or waiting at the edge of their seats. Kwak DongYeon became a textbook example of what an actor should be, showing his worth as an award-winning actor. He became a master at his craft, taking viewers on a rollercoaster ride through a spectrum of varying emotions.
