        Daejeon Natural Heritage Center (천연기념물센터 (대전))

        The Natural Heritage Center was established to help visitors learn about the value and importance of natural heritages through exhibitions and education on the methodical study of natural heritages. Fossils of dinosaurs' eggs and footprint along with animal and plant specimens and many other natural heritages are on display. With guidance by professional researchers, young visitors can learn more about natural heritages through hands-on activities, video education and many other experiential programs that are only provided at the Natural Heritage Center. The center is developing more exhibitions through academic exchanges with UNESCO and various international organizations specializing in natural heritages. The center has an outdoor learning space with an eco pond, specimens of the dinosaurs' footprints and wild plants. It is also home to various treasured botanical species.

        Daejeon National Cemetery (국립대전현충원)

        Daejeon National Cemetery covers a vast area of land spanning 330,000㎡. The cemetery is comprised of graves for the deceased patriots, men of national merit, generals, officers, soldiers, etc. Major facilities include the Memorial Tower and Memorial Gate for paying reverence to the deceased patriots, Patriotic Spirit Exhibition Center displaying photos and articles left by the deceased, and an outdoor exhibition space, where military battle equipments are on display. Other facilities within the cemetery grounds include fountains, statues, sculptures, pavilions, and Hyeonchungji, a man-made pond in the shape of the Korean peninsula. The cemetery is well kept with many rest areas against the backdrop of beautiful natural landscape.

        Daejeon Modern History Exhibition Hall (대전근현대사전시관(옛 충남도청사 본관))

        Daejeon Modern History Hall opened to the public on October 1, 2013 at the former main building of Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Government, Daejeon (Registered Cultural Heritage No. 18). Visitors can see various scenes of history and the development of Daejeon over the past 100 years from the early 20th century to current times. Daejeon operates a planned exhibition hall, special exhibition showcasing history, architecture, design, folk style and other varied fields as well as a rotation exhibition. Also, touring the main building of Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Goverment, music concerts and various cultural education programs are available in this cultural complex. * Former Main Building of Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Government, Daejeon (Registered Cultural Heritage No. 18) * Filming site of movie "The Attorney (2013)"

        Daejeon Hoedeok Dongchundang Park (대전 회덕 동춘당 공원)

        Dongchundang Park was once the residence of Song Jung-gil, a noted politician from ancient times. Built in 1653, the park’s Dongchundang Residential Compound (Treasure No. 209) has kept some of its original features including its three ponds, pavilions, old swings, and the nameplate written by Uam Song Si-yeol in 1678 in honor of Song Jung-gil. Today, the park is the main venue of the annual Dongchundang Cultural Festival along with other local festivals.

        Daejeon History Museum (대전시립박물관)

        Daejeon History Museum, comprised of a permanent exhibition hall, donated relics exhibition hall, planned hall, and city promotion hall, was created as a cultural area for citizens according to the Doan new city development project of Daejeon on October 16, 2012. The permanent exhibition hall presents precious cultural assets in Daejeon with the theme of life and culture of Confucian scholars of Daejeon. The donated relic exhibition hall showcases artifacts donated by residents of Daejeon, and in the planned exhibition hall, a special exhibition is held to offer diverse items to see one or two times a year. In addition, plenty of hands-on programs, lectures, and performances are given in the museum to entertain visitors.

        Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) (대전 컨벤션센터)

        Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) opened on April 21, 2008 in support of the local convention industry, one of Daejeon’s fastest going business during the time. The DCC is a state-of-the-art facility with a grand ballroom with seating for up to 2,000 people and an exhibition hall with a capacity of 2,600 people. The DCC boasts 24 professional meeting rooms including eight medium-sized meeting rooms and four exhibition halls on the first floor. Partner companies of the DCC include international meeting planners, hotels, PR and printing companies, and travel agencies, offering one-stop services for business travelers. Nearby attractions and facilities include EXPO Science Park, an outdoor stage, a variety of accommodation facilities, restaurants, a shopping mall, Hanbat Arboretum, Culture and Arts Center, and a municipal art museum.

        Daecheongho Lake (대청호)

        Daecheongho Lake is a man-made lake, stretching from Daejeon to Cheongju-si, Okcheon-gun, and Boeun-gun. Construction began in 1975 and finished in 1980, and the lake supplies water for various use to people in Daejeon and Cheongju. The reservoir water spans an area of over 72.8㎢ with a length of 80km, and the water kept in storage has a volume of 1.5 billion tons, making the reservoir the third largest lake in Korea. The area is famous for its beautiful driving course along a tree-lined road through the nearby mountain which has an altitude of 200 to 300m. Also, resident birds and migratory birds, such as white heron, can be seen during summer in the upper region of the lake.

        Currency Museum of Korea (화폐박물관)

        The Currency Museum of Korea is the first museum in Korea to be dedicated solely to modern and ancient currencies. The museum (est. 1988) is operated by the Mint Corporation of Korea as part of its non-profit public services and is open to visitors free of charge with a view of increasing public knowledge of the nation’s currency. The museum features a total of 120,000 pieces including: coins currently in use both in Korea and overseas; coins from modern times (from the Late Joseon Dynasty until today); 80 types of commemorative coins; 88 types of ‘special money’; postage stamps, and other materials. Exhibition Room 1 presents a wide selection of coins from both ancient eras and modern times, with many of the coins dating back to the Goryeo and Joseon dynasties. Coins on display in this room include Geonwonjungbo (996), the first coin ever minted in Korea; Haedongwonbo (1097); and Sangpyeongtongbo, the most widely used coin during the Joseon Dynasty. Other displays include commemorative coins from past Olympics, special coins, charms, amulets and Lydian currency, the world’s first-ever alloy coin minted around 670 BC. Exhibition Room 2 (Exhibition of Bills) displays a wide variety of bills by era as well as information detailing the production process of a banknote (from the manufacturing of the paper used to the finished product). Exhibition Room 3 shows how authorities spot counterfeit money while Exhibition Room 4 has a wide selection of stamps, medals, and currencies from over 120 different countries around the world including Russia and North Korea.

        Bomunsan Park is a major park in the city of Daejeon. It boasts lush greenery that changes colors every season. It also offers a wide range of recreational facilities like mineral springs, hiking trails, indoor roller-skating rink, soccer field, exercise equipment, and youth square, as well as cultural attractions like Bomunsanseong Fortress, Bomunsaji Temple Site, outdoor music hall, observatory, and cable car.
