TFN made their official debut in January 2021 and previously promoted under the name, T1419. The group was made up of 9 members — NoA, SiAn, Kevin, GunWoo, Leo, On, Zero, Kairi, and Kio. Even prior to their name change, they displayed a noticeable vigor and unbound energy that added a sizeable flame to every performance.

There's no denying that TFN are a group that was coated with charisma from head to toe. They showcased their innate skill even at the time of their debut. Whether they performed original songs or covers, you just could not take your eyes off the idol group for one second.

Pre-Debut Promotions

For many groups, fans meet them for the first time right at debut. However, TFN were able to set themselves apart through a variety of pre-debut promotions. They released stunning performance videos that showcased their dancing prowess. The idol group showed immense strength and swagger, even before officially taking a step into the K-Pop scene. Seeing their innate skills, you couldn't help but grow curious about the idol group.

Following these impressive performance videos, TFN released their pre-debut single 'Dracula'. The MV showed the boys going above and beyond, with each member wearing special face makeup that resembled the type of company 'Dracula' would keep as friends. TFN showed that they were ready to make a statement and show they were different from all the idols that came before.

 

Explosive Entry Into The K-Pop Scene

Although it did take a few more months for the MLD boy group to make their official debut, they showed that the wait was all worth it. They took the time to fine tune their craft, while also catering to their slowly forming fandom. Leading up to their official debut, they released aesthetic visual films and their very own reality variety YouTube series. This allowed netizens to realize the boy group's many charms both on and off stage.

When they finally did release their first single album, "BEFORE SUNRISE Part. 1" fans were already showing incredible investment into the idol group. Their debut title track, 'ASURABALBALTA', lived up to its name, becoming a magical incantation that put everyone underneath TFN's spell. It was a showcase of outstanding vocals, amazing rap skills, and noteworthy performance capabilities.

From MV to music show stages, this marked the explosive start of TFN's glorious career in the ever-changing K-Pop industry.

 

Resounding Success In Latin America

While they were based in South Korea and slowly building their fanbase, TFN made a huge splash within Latin America. In a previous interview, TFN's On attributes their success in the region to their "strongly colored music", stating that this "kind of wildness and freedom is our biggest attraction." TFN are a group that was able to reach the same energy levels as their South American audience, jumping and screaming along in complete unison to all the fun that's happening on stage.

Due to their roaring success, the boy group even released an entirely Spanish single, 'When The Sun Goes Down'. They defied language barriers and the stereotypes of a typical K-Pop group. This showcased their willingness to not only cater to their Spanish-speaking fans, but to show that they're not contained by a single genre or style.

The boy group was even invited to the region's prestigious "Monitor Music Awards" in 2021. Even in their debut year, they were already leaving a mark outside of South Korea, breaking into international markets.

 

Success In Japan

As with most K-Pop groups, TFN also ventured out into the Japanese music industry. And it made even more sense, given the fact that four members are actually Japanese. The boy group released a few Japanese singles and in order to communicate with their beloved fans, they even had a TFN JAPAN OFFICIAL YouTube channel which catered to that specific demographic.

Even the Korean members worked extremely hard to converse with their Japanese fanbase. This showed their dedication to improve and connect with all their loyal supporters, regardless of country or background. With their success, TFN even held a special fanmeeting event called, "2023 TFN LIVE TOUR EVENT in JAPAN". With the amount of fan accounts from the events, TFN was truly a sparkling gem in the eyes of EDELWEISS.

 

Performance Kings

It goes without saying that TFN checked off the boxes necessary to stand on stage as idols. But they truly became different people the moment they stepped onto the stage. With microphones on, they were able to mesmerize thousands within a singular song. They masterfully executed complex dance moves and nailed the most difficult formations, providing core memories for fans across the globe.

This wasn't limited to their original songs, either. Even in covers, TFN gave it their all and rocked the stage, earning outpouring love and praise from all. In vocals, dance, and rap, there was nothing TFN could not do and that's what made them so special to their loving fans.

At the end of the day, TFN was one group made up of 9 different personalities that fans could not help but love. Through various content pieces and live broadcasts, EDELWEISS truly got to know TFN as both idols and individual people. They were a never-ending amount of serotonin, ready to transform the rain into sunshine at a moment's notice. Even on Kpopmap, with the help of fans, they were able to rise to the top of the HEART TOP 100 in a blink of an eye.
