The 2024 Met Gala, one of the biggest and most anticipated events in fashion, often called the Oscars of the fashion world, is happening tonight, May 6!

Over the years, several extremely beloved and renowned K-Pop idols have been invited to the Met Gala, thanks to K-Pop's increasing influence in the global fashion industry. However, this year, one K-Pop act is about to make history as the first K-Pop group to be invited to the grand event. This K-Pop group is none other than Stray Kids!

The guest list for the Met Gala is kept strictly under wraps but recently, Stray Kids member SeungMin revealed that the group is preparing for the upcoming Met Gala, much to the joy of STAY all over the world. In this context, searches for Stray Kids related to the 2024 Met Gala went up by 650%. Stray Kids was also the only K-Pop group or K-Pop artist, for that matter, to show up in the Related Searches of the 2024 Met Gala, according to Google Trends. Similarly, "Met Gala" is also the most-searched topic on Google right now in relation to Stray Kids, and "Met Gala 2024 Stray Kids" is a breakout topic, being searched all over the world.

This year, the Met Gala theme is “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” and the dress code is "The Garden of Time," inspired by a 1962 short story of the same name by J.G. Ballard. You can read the short story here.

"The Garden Of Time" by J.G. Ballard tells the story of the luxurious and sophisticated lifestyle of Count Axel and his wife, who find themselves on the receiving end of an oncoming rabble. The only way they can keep the disorder at bay is by cutting off the beautiful flowers blooming in their garden, but with only the last of the blooms left, the couple prepares for an abrupt end.

Accordingly, expect to see a lot of florals at the Met Gala carpet, both blooming and withering, but on the darker side of things, we may also see symbols of decadence and the inevitable passage of time.
