Led by talented veterans in Cho JungSeok and Shin SaeKyeong, the tvN drama has become a weekend highlight for millions. Carved into its plot is painful yearning, tense palace politics, and an unfolding romance.

The drama revolves around the life of Lee In (Cho JungSeok) as he ascends the throne and becoming acquainted with Kang HeeSoo (Shin SaeKyeong) in the process. Despite meeting HeeSoo as a gifted, yet nameless baduk player, Lee In is bewitched by her spellbinding aura. Their lives do become intertwined, but they must untangle the various deadly knots that threaten their time together. As a result, the two are forced to make a myriad of difficult decisions.

This moment lays down the foundations of their relationship, allowing them to take the first step in their heartbreaking romance story.

2. Meeting At The Sight Of Rain

After parting, they agree to reunite at the first hint of rainfall. As both are unable to control the weather, some time does pass in which the two find themselves constantly thinking about the other. But once the rain does start to fall, Lee In and Kang HeeSoo immediately drop all that they're doing and make their way to the agreed meeting place.

Once they enter into each other's field of vision, a look of complete elation appears across their face. Seeing their happiness puts even viewers at home in a good mood, hopeful that they'll be able to keep this energy until the very end.

3. A King's Confession

After spending the night recovering, Kang HeeSoo is greeted by falling rain. And as if it's a signal, Lee In promptly appears in front of her. It's a gripping scene that has everyone at the edge of their seats. But amid the tense atmosphere and HeeSoo's attempts to push the King away, he makes a shocking confession: "I like you."

These words effectively leave HeeSoo, and audiences, speechless. Despite the heavy atmosphere, you can see the gears start to turn for our two main characters to able to move past the stage of forlorn yearning and into a relationship both can openly embrace.

4. HeeSoo's True Identity Revealed

After finding a drunken HeeSoo, Lee In immediately brings her to a nearby residence. After making an attempt to untie her robes, he learns of her true identity. Although initially shocked, these feelings are quickly replaced with fiery passion.

What ensues next is a night of intimacy that solidifies their feelings toward one another. The sparks that appeared episodes prior has now become a roaring flame that shows no signs of dying down anytime soon.

5. Deciding To Stay

With her true identity out in the open, the King has become more expressive in how he feels. However, due to the state of the court and the duties he must carry out, Lee In provides HeeSoo the choice to stay by his side or, ultimately, leave.

While there could have been a mind-blowing twist, she decides to remain by his side. Although the idea of revenge still ruminates in her mind, one cannot deny their true feelings that's obvious for all to see.
