An announcement of a comeback in the K-Pop world is a cause for celebration for many fans. Like, your favourite groups and soloists releasing a new single will have you in your head for days, with your earphones plugged in. Imagine how elated Jeon SoMi’s fans were when she finally came back after almost two years with her newest mini album, “GAME PLAN”. Or imagine how excited and happy HwaSa’s fans were when her very recently released single, ‘I Love My Body’ reached streaming platforms. Pure bliss, we would say, but there are still other soloists we’d love to hear from.

With comeback after comeback occuring in the K-Pop scene, it’s somewhat easy to forget soloists, especially idol soloists. From the gems in music form that they’ve put out in the past, it’s no surprise we want more of these soloists’ songs back on our playlist. In this article, we’ll tell you 6 K-Pop idol soloists we wish would have their comeback. We can’t seem to want more of the chart-toppers they’ll very likely release.

        1. Red Velvet’s Wendy

        DAZED Korea

If you were constantly looping ‘When This Rain Stops’ and ‘Best Friend’ ft SeulGi from Wendy’s debut album, then we feel you. Not only does her ethereal voice bring to live what music truly is, her soulful vocal delivery ensures that you can’t stop thinking about her songs. Maybe you even go about your day with the tunes buzzing in your head. That is totally understandable, and we feel the exact same way. Now, time to manifest a Wendy comeback.

        2. SEVENTEEN’s WooZi

        PLEDIS Entertainment

After ‘Ruby’ dropped, CARATs (SEVENTEEN’s fandom) went positively ballistic. Why wouldn’t they or why wouldn’t you? It was the debut single of the super boy group’s very own producer, composer and lyricist. WooZi’s songwriting skills in this single are just peak, and the way he sings the lines in English makes us wish we were the ones turning red when he looked at us. Another release, please.

        3. TWICE’s NaYeon

We think everyone was overtaken by the ‘POP!’ virus last year. A summer release with the most fun and enjoyable title track? NaYeon outdid herself for her solo debut, and even made amazing tracks with the likes of Wonstein and Stray Kids’ Felix. She has proven her talent time and time again as the center of TWICE and a great vocalist and dancer. It would be the biggest of privileges if she could repeat that enthusiasm and passion in a comeback. Please make it happen, JYP.

        4. WonHo

WonHo knows just what it means to be a soloist with substance. His songs ‘Losing You’ and ‘Open Mind’ are absolute bangers, worth at least a listen a week. It’s evident how much energy and time he puts into making these masterpieces, and he never fails to hit with every comeback. Since we’ve been starved of a good ol’ WonHo comeback, we dare say it’s about time it happened. Preferably right after his mandatory military service.

        5. BLACKPINK’s Jennie

Well, obviously, both BLINKs and casual stans/listeners would love to see Jennie in her ‘SOLO’ element again. She knows just what it means to captivate an audience, and what it means to perform and give a song life. Though it’s been five years since she debuted solo, there’s been next to no news about a comeback. Hopefully, now that all the members of BLACKPINK have made their debuts, there just might be a chance solo Jennie can drop her own stuff again. Hopefully.

        6. YuJu

While you might know YuJu as the idol who has recorded so many original soundtracks for dramas, you might want to also check out her solo music. Her debut album “REC” was absolutely wonderful to listen to, and the vocalist showed us just how stable and enthusiastic her vocals are. We’d so love for her to recreate her magic again, and we hope that happens real soon.

What idol soloists are you wishing or hoping would have their comeback soon? We’d absolutely love to know!
