A Puerto Rican Grace Talks About Her Favorite Group GreatGuys & Her Biases HoRyeong & BaekGyeol

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hello! My name is Keyla Marie and I’m from Puerto Rico. I’m a Grace since 2019 and I want to share my favorite group with you all and maybe after reading this you became their fan too!!!

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I started following GreatGuys since 2019. I was on YouTube watching a video and their MV for ‘DANG!’ popped out and I started listening to the song and it captured my attention. After that I started looking for them and their music and here I am now!

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

GreatGuys are very talented and underrated. They’re very kind, humble, they work very hard to be noticed and not a lot of people know about them. They have a lot of energy, their music is very catchy, fun and makes you want to dance. I honestly think people are missing out on GreatGuys. When they’re on stage you can feel their passion and the desire to be heard.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

The first member who caught my attention was HwalChan. The first time I saw him he was wearing red clothes in the ‘DANG!’ video, and he was very tall, not to mention very handsome jajaja for that reason he caught my eye.

Who is your bias, and why?

Right now, I have 2 biases- they are HoRyeong and BaekGyeol. Both are very charming, kind, funny and they take good care of each other and the members. When I met them in person, they were always making sure I was okay and making me laugh with their jokes and cute faces.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

Honestly, I can recommend a lot of songs because I love all their songs, but If I have to choose a title track I think it would be their debut song. ‘Last Men’ is a song that really captures you and remind you the old school K-Pop songs and generations from back in the years. I know all of you would like it! And I would also like to recommend ‘Illusion’ and ‘Be On You’. I’m sorry I know it should be just one song jajaja.

I will also recommend 2 B-side tracks that I really love: ‘Stay’ and ‘R.O.M.L’. In both songs, you can feel the GreatGuys' feelings and listen to their angelical voices. 'R.O.M.L' is a special song because it was one dedicated to their fandom Grace.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

They have a lot of videos I can recommend but I will go with the 'R.O.M.L' cover that BaekGyeol did, I just love his voice on the cover and he express well the feelings of the song.

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

I would like to recommend a fan made video made by a fellow Grace, leellasdream. In this video you can see the real members of GreatGuys, how funny they are, how they take good care of others and also their goofiness lol. Every time I watch this video I just laugh so much and it helps me remember why I love them so much.

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

What type of concept do you prefer: cute, dark, sexy, etc?

Wow, is hard for me to choose, they have tried many different concepts, but I do like when they do like a dark concept with a sexy twist, like in the 'Illusion' MV but I’m 100% sure that any concept they try will be a success!!!

What is your best souvenir with your favorite group until now?

I remember when the Puerto Rico concert ended, they were so grateful to the Grace in here that they made a full bow and cried when singing the last song. It was a very meaningful concert and a moment I will never forget. I really have many beautiful memories with GreatGuys.

Can you describe your bias in only one word?

HoRyeong: Strong with a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile!!
BaekGyeol: Extroverted & funny with a big heart.

Name a variety show/content show that you would love to see your bias on? Tell us why.

I would like to see them in a show like "After School Club". It would be great to see them play games knowing they’re very competitive, show their choreography, performances. I think a lot of people will enjoy a show with them.

Name 1 quality of your bias that you wish you had.

I think their strength and desire for not giving up until achieve all your dreams.

If your bias were to collab with another idol, who do you think would be best?

I would like to see them do a collab with EXO or MONSTA X. I think their style will go great with those groups and something amazing could come up from them.

What is the biggest mystery about your favorite idol?

You will never know what to expect next from them.

What is your favorite group/bias' influence on your daily life?

They always push me to pursuit my dream. They only share with me encouragement words and told me that they are only repaying all the support I gave them… That means a lot to me.

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

I think the best part of fangirling is to share my love for them with my close friends and fellow Grace. Every time they talk about their favorite groups and are well known groups and when is my turn is my time to shine and show them why I like GreatGuys so much!!!! Funny story is a lot of my friends became fans of the group jajajaja.

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?

I think that a lot of people when they think of K-Pop only think of the big groups that are well known internationally and they don’t simply give a chance to the other groups that are struggling to get notice. Being a group that comes from a small company does not mean that they are not talented or good enough, and that thinking has to change. It is time for others to start STAN other groups and give them a chance. GreatGuys have amazing songs, they’re funny, kind, and work so hard to keep going and show a better side of themselves every comeback. Just check them out and you will not regret it!!!!
