Let's get to know our boy crush, WooYoung!

If you're new to WooYoung, here is some basic information about him. WooYoung was born on November 26, 1999, and was born to be a performer. He had a love for dance and music from a young age and invested a lot of time into learning to dance, especially.
Many may not know but WooYoung was initially a trainee at BIGHIT Entertainment. This is also the time when he met fellow member YeoSang and they became close friends. Later, YeoSang ended up moving to KQ Entertainment and WooYoung trusted his gut and followed him.
When reminiscing about their time as trainees, one of the things that YeoSang pointed out about WooYoung was how big an impression his charm had on him. During one of their monthly evaluations, WooYoung placed first in the charm category. This only proves the theory that WooYoung is a born talent.
In 2017, he participated in the survival show "MIXNINE". He earned a lot of praise from both viewers and judges for his talents during his time on the show. His positive attitude especially stood out and showed off his social butterfly persona, as he become popular among the contestants, too. He showed the other contestants a lot of encouragement and support despite being competitors. Unfortunately, he didn't make the final debut lineup but many fans have appreciated seeing his growth as a performer since then.
Many fans have remarked on the stark difference between his performances then and now. He has especially gained confidence in himself and his skills since then, boosting his performance power.
He made his debut as a member of ATEEZ in 2018.
WooYoung has a reputation as one of the best dancers among 4th generation K-Pop idols for a reason. We could explain it to you but honestly... If you simply watch one of his performances, you'll understand why he has that title immediately.
One of the videos that have this effect on anyone who watches WooYoung dance is his cover of 'Bad' by Christopher, which he performed for "Studio Choom". It is a must-watch dance video of his.
As much as his performance power and dance prowess needs no explanation, we'd like to gush about it anyways. So, here goes nothing...
Firstly, WooYoung is an extremely detailed dancer. No matter how complicated or fast the choreography is, he never misses a beat when it comes to the finer details of a dance move. He even adds unexpected details like adding sign language to his choreography and ending fairies. He knows both Korean and American sign language and uses them to relay messages to more people who may be watching his performance.
The amount of detail he puts into his dancing is not by coincidence either. WooYoung has spent hours monitoring his fancams and taking note of the moves that he doesn't like so that he can fix and improve them for the next performance.
If we had to describe his stage presence in one word? Electrifying.
That natural charisma that flows through his blood and presents itself in everything he does, seems to only ignite on stage and turn up the heat. It is one of his largest draw cards that has people dropping their biases for him.
This is partially due to his self-proclaimed unofficially official role as ATEEZ's designated sexy performer.
One of his most recent biaswrecker-esque stages was this fancam for ATEEZ's latest title track 'HALAZIA'.
WooYoung can pull off any genre or style of dance. Whether he is putting all of his energy into a choreography filled with dynamic force and hip-hop moves, or doing something more delicate and soft with contemporary lines, all of his moves look dazzling on stage.
In this dance cover of Logic's '1-800-273-8255', he portrays all of the loneliness and hurt that the song embodies. This is one of his many talents... He personifies emotion through his dance moves and gives new meaning to the lyrics through bodily expression. This is not an easy feat for an artist. However, WooYoung does it effortlessly and gives you goosebumps while he's at it.
His talent doesn't stop at his dance skills and stage presence, though. WooYoung also has an incredibly alluring voice. His voice has a unique tone and vocal timbre which adds depth to ATEEZ's signature sound. In fact, one of his many nicknames is 'the master of the killing part' among ATEEZ members because of the way his voice suits the highlights of their songs.
His wide vocal range also adds to his versatility as an artist who can do anything.
Additionally, WooYoung has the ability to comfort you through his vocals. His cover of '12:45" by Etham (watch below or here) fills up any hollowness that you might be feeling with his pretty vocals. His emotional rendition will leave you in your feels and yearning to listen to even more covers.
When it comes to dedication, WooYoung is unmatched. He is such a hard worker and often speaks about the effort he puts into his training and performance. It's no doubt that so many fans are inspired by him.
Just when you think that you can't love him any more, he proves you wrong. If you factor in his playful and friendly personality, WooYoung is unstoppably adorable. He endears himself to you through his sense of humor and natural aegyo especially.
It's these qualities that make him a people magnet. People are just naturally drawn to him and he does well to maintain his relationships with them. In fact, HongJoong once said that WooYoung is one of the reasons why ATEEZ is as close as they are now.
Contrary to his bold personality and bright exterior, he also has a vulnerable side. He often shows this side to fans and is willing to open up to them. He is unapologetically himself in front of ATINY and that's one of the reasons that they love him so much.
One of his other endearing charms is his dolphin laugh which makes you want to laugh along with him. He literally spreads his happiness to others with his happy vibes. Hence he is one of the mood makers of the team. He also loves to take care of his members even if it's through acts of service like cooking for them.
Not only is his heart pretty but he is just as beautiful. He has a captivating aura that accents his gorgeous skin tone and rugged charm.
Here are some final more random facts about WooYoung:
He is super flexible and athletic thanks to taekwondo training.
He has near-perfect aim. He is really good at shooting games, gun shooting (at the shooting range), and darts. It's not unusual for him to place first or get a near-perfect score in games that involve aim.
He enjoys doing magic tricks.
He can touch his nose with his tongue (which is a rare ability).
These are just a few random facts but if we could list them all, you'd be wondering how one person can be so talented in so many diverse ways.
WooYoung prides himself on being a constantly better version of himself. He is an advocate for self-improvement and it's truly inspirational. We can't wait to see what more his career has in store for him, as he is guaranteed to be uber-successful in the future.
