JUNNY is a soulful Korean R&B singer-songwriter under mauve company. He is one of the most in-demand soloists in the industry thanks to his composition skills, songwriting ability, and compelling performances. In fact, he is the musical genius behind some of your favorite music, having composed songs for popular artists such as IU, GOT7's Jay B, EXO's BaekHyun, and the NCT sub-units, to name a few.
Unbound Entertainment & Modo-Live announced that the singer would be embarking on the 2023 JUNNY "blanc" Tour, heightening expectations from fans. The tour will start in February 2023 with a four-city US tour and proceed to 13 stops across Europe. It's important to note the historical significance of the Europe leg of his tour, too. This achievement makes JUNNY the first Korea-based solo artist to tour 13 European countries within one tour!
Kpopmap had the absolute pleasure of interviewing JUNNY ahead of his monumental tour. We discussed his upcoming concert performances, got a snippet of his routine before heading on stage, learned about his musicality, and more.
JUNNY, thank you for taking the time to speak to Kpopmap today! We’ve heard the amazing news that you’ll be heading on another “blanc” tour of the US & Europe. Congratulations! How does it feel to be going on tour again following the success of your previous one?
Feels amazing to go back and hit the cities that I’ve missed last year, excited to perform for my US fans and I’m planning to continue on the energy from my last visit with some additional songs just for the fans.
What was your most memorable moment from the first “blanc” North American tour? Is there a moment that you’d like to relive or experience for the first time during your upcoming US & Europe tour?
It’s gotta be the moment I step on stage and seeing all the fans greet me with the insane amount of noise. The energy they create is like no other and to perform as they sing along gave me chills.

You have a discography filled with an endless array of impactful songs. Which song are you most looking forward to performing live on this tour and why?
I got a lot in mind right now, but one of my favorites has got to be “Not About You” because it’s one of my fave songs yet and an unreleased song I’ve prepared for them. Can’t speak too much on that yet but I’m excited for the reactions.
Do you have any interesting rituals, habits, or routines that you absolutely must do before going on stage to perform?
I always have a few sips of Redbull (sponsor me) and just a few vocal warm ups. I’m usually quiet and try and focus on the set and think about what I wanna say on stage. Other than that its just enjoying the fact that I’m there about to put on a show.
As an artist, what aspect of your performance do you hope fans would focus on while they are listening to you sing or watching you perform?
Mostly my vocal performance, to show that I’m not just a studio singer and I’m able to actually sing sing lol and hope that they would vibe with the energy I bring to the show. It’s gonna be a rollercoaster and I just hope they are in for the ride.

If you could describe your musicality as an artist in one word, what would it be?
Transparent. I like to be free as possible with my music, experimenting with various genres, and want to be known as an artist that can be diverse with the music I create.
Your music is the epitome of relatable and always feels like it comes from a personal place. Each musical release shows a new side of JUNNY. As an artist, is there a side of yourself that you feel you haven’t shown to fans yet and would like to show them soon?
Definitely. I got many projects being prepared for this year and this tour will be the start of something special and hopefully, it can satisfy both of my new and current listeners.
What can fans look forward to seeing or hearing from JUNNY in 2023? Do you have any special musical plans or resolutions that you’d like to share with them?
A lot of exciting plans being planned this year & as I am constantly trying to improve I just want to show the world and my fans what I’m capable of and make them proud to be a fan of JUNNY.

You’ve shown your fans the best of your soulful vocals on your last tour and are sure to do the same on this upcoming tour. Do you have any plans to perform in other parts of the world soon?
Europe is set for early spring, planning on more tours soon and Asia being a definite must. I wanna go all over the world and be able to see my fans and hopefully my new upcoming projects will shed a light on that opportunity. It’s all part of the process.
Lastly, can you say a word to global fans who are excited to see you perform on stage? Do you have a special message for your loving fans around the world?
Just wanna say thank you for all the love and support, if it wasn’t for my fans I wouldn’t have been able to go on tour and it’s honestly a blessing to be in this position.
