There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other's stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

Katherin is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Mexico and is a fan of BLANK2Y, and particularly of YoungBin and SungJun. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

I'm Katherin. I'm 17 years old. I'm from Mexico.

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I'm in the fandom before the members were officially announced, in December more or less, I don't remember well

What are the reasons why this rookie group is your favorite group?

At first I was only going to support 1 member but seeing the reality show they did and seeing that they were all too united made me love the 9 members a lot and I decided to ban it.

What do you think differentiates this rookie group from the others?

The difference is that they have so much passion for what they do and the love they have shown to their fans.

For the readers who are completely new to the group and members, can you introduce them with your own words?

DK: He is the oldest of the group but when you meet him he seems like the youngest.
Louis: He is a cute boy who looks like a tiger, his dancing, singing and visual will catch you.
DongHyuk: Our fake maknae, the love he has for his fans will make you stay with him.
SiWoo: A sweet SiWoo who always takes care of his maknaes.
U: Our Chinese member who has beautiful eyes and a beautiful smile.
Mikey: Our Japanese member who will make you fall in love with his tenderness.
YoungBin: Our bruni who is very talented and cute, his dimples are his charm.
SungJun: The shy guy in the group, his vocal is awesome and he's too cute.
SoDam: BLANK2Y's treasure, his hyungs will always be there to protect him, his vocal is excellent and he's the cutest.

Who caught your attention at first and why? Did you know any members prior to their debut?

I knew YoungBin. I saw "I-LAND" last year and there was a rumor that a boy group would debut with one member from "I-LAND" and then it was revealed that it was YoungBin and he was the first one that caught my attention.

Do you have a bias yet? If yes, tell us why.

YoungBin and SungJun. YoungBin is a person I love too much. I've been with him for almost a year and that's why he's my bias/
SungJun - I don't know how he became my bias, I don't know when that happened but I can only say that he is a beautiful angel.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

The songs I would recommend for fans that are 'I Wish' and 'Constellation'.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or other from your favorite group or bias?

I recommend this stage performance.

For you, what is your bias' best stage outfits until now? Please share a picture or fan cam.

This is one of YoungBin's best outfits.

What is your biggest dream for your favorite group/bias aside from being happy and healthy?

They want to win the rookie of the year and I also want them to win it. I also want them to appear on the Billboard and that is something that the fans will try to fulfill.

What is your first comment on a live broadcast of your favorite idol?

I don't remember what the first comment was but in a live they responded to a comment of mine where I said "BLANK2Y is so handsome".

Is there particular information that you want to say to new fans because they mostly don't know about it?

I think if you want to get to know the members a little more, you should watch the reality show. They probably don't talk much about themselves but the connection and affection that the members have for each other is very noticeable.

If you go to only one, would you go to a concert, fan meeting, or fan sign?

Without hesitation and if I had the opportunity to go I would, whether it be a concert, fanmeeting or autograph signing, I would like to be able to fulfill that dream of meeting them.

If you have a chance to cook for the group, what will you cook for them?

I'd probably cook them Mexican food.

Do you have a dream subunit/unit?

The boys have claimed to be fans of some senior groups, so I'd say have a sub-unit of THE BOYZ dance or sing with the BLANK2Y members.

Describe them in 5 words.

Loving, Passionate, Strong, Admirable and an Example (to Follow).

What is a random fact that you think people don't know about them?

Everyone probably knows but new fans don't yet- some members went through other debuts or were on survival shows

Can you recall a moment where you cried/laughed with your bias?

There was no exact moment but whenever I see pictures of him or things about him it makes me want to cry.

What about your bias do you relate to the most?

I identify with SungJun very quickly with being the most shy.

What is one thing that you think is unique about your bias/bias group?

Many groups are new and have fans, but the fans hardly support them. With BLANK2Y, it's the opposite. They always have the support of K2YWE.

If you could write a book about your bias, what would the first and last lines be?

"The boy with the pretty eyes" and "the kindest and warmest person I have ever met and he is the boy who completely stole my heart".

What is your 2022 prediction for your favourite idol?

I hope they can be nominated for some awards and can win the Rookie of the Year.

Would you like to see your bias group in variety shows? What type of variety show would you like them to do?

I would like it very much, I think I would like to see them cooking or going camping, I just want to see them have fun.

What are the things you are looking for in their future activities?

I am looking forward to more lives and I hope that in their first concert tour they can come to my city and I hope that they can have more confidence in themselves when singing on stage.
