Kpopmap Fan Interview: An American BB Talks About Her Favorite Group DKB And Her Bias JunSeo

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

DKB Ent is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from the U.S. and is a fan of DKB, and most particularly of JunSeo. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hi! I’m DKB Ent and I’m from the US!

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

DKB is one of the best well-rounded groups I've seen in this new generation of K-Pop. They are a self-produced group and that was one of the most noticeable things about them. You can see how much they want to be successful by their 100% efforts to make music and their choreography. Another reason would be the way they created a comfortable space where they treat us like their friends. Not only did they create a space where we can be comfortable with them, but also with other fans.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

The ones that caught my attention would be JunSeo and Harry June because I was watching one of their debut interviews and they were doing a dance freestyle battle towards each other. They were just showing off their dance skills and I haven’t seen a majority members of a group do that in a while. You can definitely see the difference in dance styles from each member.

Who is your bias, and why?

My bias in DKB is JunSeo. When I first saw JunSeo, he was more of a quiet and reserved type. You could tell by him always wearing hats during his debut days, he wasn’t as comfortable yet. But as time went on, especially during the ‘Work Hard’ era, he began to come out of his shell which was the most amazing thing to see how much he grew as an artist and as a person. JunSeo is one of the funniest members out of the group, especially when he’s playing with the younger members or even when older members are teasing with him. Watching videos like those is the highlight of my day. JunSeo has one of the kindest souls and I wish more people would see that. I think one of the most charming points about JunSeo would be his smile. His smile makes me happy everytime I see it. Once you see his smile, you would definitely understand!

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

Honestly, the way I would recommend their title track is based on what genre of music you like the most. Every time DKB makes a comeback, it creates a new taste. It could either be a hard trap beat like with 'Sober' or you can get a second generation vibe with 'All In'.

If you are looking for music that gives EDM Trap Hip-Hop based songs, I would definitely recommend 'Sorry Mama' and 'Sober'.

If you are looking for a more sophisticated sound but still have a Hip-Hop beat, I would definitely suggest you to check out 'Still'.

If you want Hip-Hop based songs, listen to 'Work Hard' or 'Rollercoaster'.

Some of my favorite B-sides of all time from DKB would be 'No More' and 'Get Away'. I would definitely recommend that to any new BBs!

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

I think an individual content video that I would recommend to your viewers would be a pre-debut video of JunSeo. The reason why I chose this video is to show how long JunSeo has been dancing. Over the years, you can see how he polished his dance skills, but seeing that raw talent he had as a child is very interesting to watch.

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

"DKB United" would be a perfect recommendation for viewers who would want to see different sides of them. "DKB United" was their first reality show filmed this year on Mnet. There are different challenges that the boys face to collect clips of choreography for the performance video at the end! You will see the boys at the circus, dancing with the Amazon dance crew, and even seeing their manager dancing. Even though it’s a short show, it is very impactful!

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

One of my favorite lyrics will be from the 2nd anniversary song 'Bestie'. The line comes from GK's rap, "We can never apart, you're my forever soulmate". This is the most meaningful gift we received from the boys. To go in depth, our fandom name is BB which means DKB’s Bestie. The meaning behind it is that we are DKB’s closest friends who will always be with them on their journey. In a sense, the lyrics are perfect for the relationship between BBs and DKB. We'll always be there for them.

What is your biggest dream for your favorite group/bias aside from being Happy and Healthy?

My biggest dream for DKB is to see them succeed. I see how much dedication and talent they have and I just want others to appreciate it. With the proper management and promotions, I believe they will be great in the future!

If you go to only one, would you go to a concert, fan meeting, or fan sign?

I would definitely choose the fan meeting! The reason why is that I’m going to meet DKB in June for their Meet & Live US Tour for the concert and one of the benefits is a fan signing. So, I’ll pick the fan meeting since I will be there for the other two options!

Do you have a dream subunit/unit?

Honestly, I would love to see any of the members of DKB do a special stage with E’Last. A lot of BBs and Elrings (E’Last fans) know how much each group supports each other, so I would like to see it happen.

What is a random fact that you think people don't know about?

I think the most random fact that I know is that most people don’t know that DKB was supposed to have a pre-debut/debut reality show. I remember reading it in a Naver article a long time ago, but there are many people who don't know about it.

What is your 2022 prediction for your favourite idol?

My prediction for JunSeo is for him to release his first K-Drama OST. I think JunSeo has the perfect voice to sing for any OST! I want people to appreciate how great JunSeo's vocals are.
