PENTAGON's Hui Is Set To Make His Official Solo Debut

With the new year on the way it also means new music from different artists in various parts of the music industry worldwide! South Korea is no different, from announcements of modelling campaigns, various idols looking stunning in both pre-debut, debut covers, or magazine campaigns, it seems more and more are getting their wish.

"Boys Planet" supporters and fans of PENTAGON are one of the few to receive a wish they have been hoping for what seems like years! The talented composer, producer, vocalist, and dancer Lee HoeTaek , also known by his stage name Hui, will finally make his solo debut with his first solo mini album on January 16th, 2024 at 6pm KST. This announcement was posted on December 21st. The album itself features a clever word play on Hui's name and is aptly called, "WHU IS ME: Complex". 

Earlier this year and after gaining popularity through the competition show "Boys Planet", Hui collaborated with and modeled for the popular brand MEDIPEEL.

For many UNIVERSE (PENTAGON fandom name), they have mentioned how it reminds them of PENTAGON's 'Naughty boy' era, hinting at a possible homage with the whimsical and funny poses and coloring, unexpected symbolism, clever wordplay and numerous themes embedded into the work.

Earlier this year, Hui released a special single for fans on July 18th, 2023 titled 'Whale', which was previously teased and talked about in a WeVerse livestream. There, Hui talked about the music he enjoyed, chatted with UNIVERSE through comments, and showed appreciation for the fanbase and the members of PENTAGON. 

PENTAGON and Hui also released the mini album "PADO" alongside the special single "With UNIVERSE" before numerous members parted ways with Cube Entertainment. Despite this, they announced that they would still remain as members of PENTAGON.
