PENTAGON's ShinWon Officially Starts His Military Enlistment

The day a lot of fans are often never ready or properly prepared for and something that is dreaded the most is an official military announcement notice from the K-Pop entertainment agency that promotes their said group. One of the most protective, kind, and most determined fanbase of the K-Pop group PENTAGON, lovingly known as UNIVERSE, currently face this predicament. 

The group and fanbase have faced many ups and downs throughout their career. This includes a member departing from the group, another member facing three different hiatuses due to his health, and yet another, PENTAGON's JinHo, having to enlist during the time of the group's appearance on the popular competition show "Road To Kingdom", YeoOne being injured in a car accident and thankfully recovering, and much more. UNIVERSE have stood firm amongst rumors, hiatuses, and various health issues. They've showcased their respect for the members despite all the hardships so far. 

Previously, UNIVERSE have already sent off various members heading off on their military enlistments such as HongSeok, Hui, and JinHo. Now, another PENTAGON member has gone off for their mandatory military service.

Before debuting as an idol and as a vocalist for PENTAGON, and spending his time working at EXO's BWCW pop-up store, PENTAGON's ShinWon actually first entered the entertainment scene as a model! At first, he was street casted as a model for the brand LEFAS. The idol then made numerous appearances at Seoul Fashion Week, making him a reoccurring model at the popular event. He most recently appeared at Seoul Fashion Week in October 2023 underneath Moon JungWook's brand NOT ENOF WORDS. 

Impressively though, artist and model Go ShinWon holds writing and producing credits for the following PENTAGON songs: 'Alien', 'Just do it yo!!', 'Round 1 (Bonus Track)' and 'Round 2 - Bonus Track'.

Earlier this month, the questions about ShinWon's mandatory military enlistment were confirmed through an official post via Cube Entertainment. The tweet provided the details of his official service, as pictured below. 

The official translation would state the following:

"Hello, this is Cube Entertainment.

First of all, we would like to express our gratitude to the UNIVERSE (fans of PENTAGON) who love and cherish PENTAGON. We would like to inform you about the military service schedule of PENTAGON's ShinWon.

ShinWon will begin fulfilling his military duties starting from December 21st, and we would like to inform you that there will be no official events on the day he starts his service. Furthermore, we ask that you refrain from visiting ShinWon's place of duty and instead encourage him in your hearts so that he can smoothly complete his alternative service.

We ask for your support and love until ShinWon safely completes his service and returns in good health, and our agency will also spare no support until Shinwon completes his military duty." 

Since then, Cube Entertainment has officially released "ShinWon's Diary", and he appeared as a guest on EBS FM Night Radio which can be found through the popular global streaming platform YouTube.
