K-Pop is constantly on the rise, reaching new heights as the years continue forward. K-Pop is no longer confined to the Korean peninsula or considered a niche genre by any means. Idol groups are now widely accepted across countries all over the globe, gaining fans from different backgrounds and nationalities.

While K-Pop is growing ever larger by the day, it still takes a tremendous amount of effort to break into the Billboard charts. Despite the difficulties, various idol groups have shown that it is indeed possible for them to go head to head with the trendiest English-speaking pop stars. Their unique sound, addictive melody, and captivating hooks make them international hits all across the globe.

Take a look at the 5 K-Pop girl groups who have made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 charts!

        1. Wonder Girls

Wonder Girls were one of the first to venture out into the U.S. market. Their hit title track, 'Nobody', peaked at no. 76, laying the groundwork for future K-Pop girl groups. 'Nobody' became an international craze and allowed the JYP girl group to tour across the U.S. and release a couple all-English hits.

        2. TWICE

Korean netizens saw something special in TWICE, as they catapulted into national fame during the early years of their career. While making a mark in South Korea, they also left a lasting impression on the international music market. They made their debut on the Billboard charts in 2021 with their song, 'The Feels'. TWICE definitely know how to make people feel a certain way with their music and has only grown their fanbase since.

        3. BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK are constantly praised for their stellar releases and ability to occupy the charts. They have an international appeal with their iconic YG sound and charismatic stage presence. They first entered the Billboard Hot 100 with their song, 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' in 2018.

        4. NewJeans

At this point, NewJeans is a movement that shows no signs of slowing down. They've gone from the trendy, yet meme-worthy 'Hype Boy' to the viral sensation 'OMG'. Oddly enough, it wasn't 'Hype Boy' that first entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The honor goes to their song 'Ditto', which released in January 21, debuting at no. 96 on the charts.

        5. FIFTY FIFTY

FIFTY FIFTY is the fastest girl group to enter into the Billboard Top 100. In such a competitive market, many were amazed that the girl group could accomplish such a feat, not even being a year since their debut. Although they occupy the no. 100 spot, no one can deny just how catchy their song 'Cupid' is. Just one listen will have you singing and dancing along in no time.
