They've worked extremely hard to portray their characters to the fullest and flesh out the story to remarkable success.

"Twinkling Watermelon" is centered around model student Ha EunGyeol (RyeoUn) who unexpectedly travels back in time to 1995. There, he meets his teenage father and mother, Ha YiChan (Choi HyunWook) and Yoon CheongAh (Shin EunSoo). EunGyeol then takes on a mission in protecting both of his parents and looks to find a way to get them together. In between this, he unknowingly meets fellow time-traveler, On EunYu (Seor InA) and the two explore the complexities of life.

The phrase "Viva La Vida" and its spirit is a driving force within the drama. Translated to "long live life", it's a saying that acknowledges the fleetingness of life and pushes individuals to make the best out of the present moment. "Twinkling Watermelon" is filled with scenes that embody this idea, inspiring audiences to live a fuller life.

Here's some of those moments that completely fill up your heart.

        Note: Spoilers ahead!

        1. Two Brothers On A Bike Ride Home

Before deeply diving into the very essence of the drama, we're greeted by the two brothers, Ha EunGyeol and Ha EunHo (Golden Child's Bong JaeHyun). While EunGyeol must already be loaded with unbearable burden, he continues to revel in the simple things in life like spending time with his older brother. While it may be a short, introductory moment to their family and the affection they have towards each other, it's truly an uplifting scene that pushes aside any worries to enjoy what's happening in the moment. Seeing their smiling faces while biking home, even you might be able to feel the cool, afternoon breeze flowing through your hair.

        2. A Trip To The Amusement Park

EunGyeol is deeply committed to his mission in protecting his father from any harm. He is determined to preserve Ha YiChan's hearing at any cost, even if it means sticking to him like glue. However, he is unable to control every factor and certainly cannot deny the joys of an amusement park.

Although he keeps YiChan in his sights, their bandmates along with Oh EunYu have a splendid time, creating memories that will last forever. In screaming their heads off on rides and participating in a variety of activities, they make full use of their vibrant youth. It is certainly moments like these that people look back on with a huge, comforting smile.

        3. Father And Son's First Performance Together

At this point of the series, Ha YiChan and Ha EunGyeol's relationship is anything but close. Their continuous bickering and EunGyeol's sound, yet overprotective tendencies prevent the two from developing a meaningful bond — for now.

However, in a twist of fate, they arrive at an opportunity where they're able to stand on stage together. Much to everyone's surprise they absolutely kill it, attracting an entire crowd of cheering onlookers. It becomes the start of a father and son's twinkling journey of youth, shining brightly so the entire world can see. The spirit of "Viva La Vida" is certainly apparent in this father and son duo.

        4. Watermelon Sugar Photoshoot

Leading up to the school festival, there's a lot of nerves, hard work, and dedication. After overcoming various obstacles, Watermelon Sugar's end goal is just in sight. But before rushing past the finish line, they must check off a few boxes to ensure everything is perfect.

This includes a photoshoot to advertise their performance to the student body. In a fun and lighthearted montage, we see the band members go around for an energetic photoshoot, capturing their identity as a band and an all-encompassing youthful spirit. Their energy is infectious, with wide, bright smiles that could light up any dark corner in the globe.

        5. EunGyeol And EunYu's Impromptu Date

In order to fully and properly recharge, sometimes you need to make a valiant escape with someone you love. Despite On EunYu's mounting worries and burdens, Ha EunGyeol creates an opportunity for both of them to enjoy life and really live out the phrase "Viva La Vida".

Despite the pain that life provides, they become content to live in the moment and bask in each other's company. Their date encapsulates everything from the drama's budding romance to fiery youth. While viewers can very well live vicariously through them, EunYu and EunGyeol also act as inspiration to try new things and appreciate all that life has to offer. With the right person and circumstances, every day can be more than bearable, but a source of unrelenting hope.

"Twinkling Watermelon" is a shining example of the phrase "Viva La Vida" and what it means to truly live life to its fullest. What do you think of the drama? Let us know in the comments!
