April is not only for pranks but also for stress awareness. There are two known coping mechanisms for stress: Problem-focused coping and Emotion-focused coping. We use the former when we have the resources to improve the external setbacks in front of us. If not, we relieve our negative feelings instead; hence, emotion-focused coping. Some effective emotion-focused methods are: Getting social support, Meditation, Prayer, Writing, and Seeking out a therapist (Source: Stress The Psychology of Managing Pressure by: Dr. McIntosh and Dr. Horowitz.)
