The soulful vocalist iKON's Jay will set off for military enlistment on July 20, 2023. He previously made the announcement with a heartfelt letter to his fans, iKONIC. Prior to his enlistment, Jay will drop his first solo album release after 8 years since debut.
Part of the iKON members' Instagram post reads:
“I feel regretful because there are so many things I’ve prepared and so many things that I still haven’t gotten the chance to show you, but because I know that our fans, who have waited for me, will feel even sadder, I’ll keep this short. Thank you for always cheering me on by my side, and I love you!”

Jay will release his first solo album under 143 Entertainment. He will release it in two parts. Part one of his album will have the track 'PARADISE'. His amazing and charismatic vocal shown on the song was accompanied by his sexy and elegant dance performance.
However, fans seemed to hope for longer promotions like program guestings and music show performances for Jay’s solo. With that, fans took the matters in their own hands as they did an impromptu fanchant for the first stage of Jay's 'PARADISE' performance, led by his iKON members, Bobby and Chan on "iKON Take Off Osaka" Day 2 tour.
Jay’s reaction showed his pure love for iKONIC. Despite having limited time to promote, he did this to give back to his fans' love and support throughout the years.
iKON Jay’s surprises before he enlists is far from over as he teases fans with the part two of his "JAY 1st Solo" with the title track 'BLUE MOON'. The album will be officially released on all platforms this coming July 18, 2023, two days before his military enlistment.
"JAY 1ST SOLO pt.2 [BLUE MOON]" tracklsit was posted by 143 Entertainment having five new songs together with Paradise, as part of his first solo album.
