3 Things That Impressed Us About iKON Song's Solo Debut With "It's CALL!"

        iKON on X

While iKON made a heated comeback just last year, the members are currently taking the time to pursue their solo endeavors. From YouTube variety programs to solo releases, the members' schedules are filled to the brim. Most notably, iKON's Song has just made his highly anticipated solo debut.

Embarking on this new chapter on March 6th, Song released his very first solo mini-album, "It's CALL!". The album consists of 5 tracks: 'It's call', 'I.I.L (I'm in love) (Feat. iKON's Bobby)', 'Miss you', 'This is what I live for', and 'FIGHTING - Band Version'. iKONic are currently raving about the album all over social media, and we can understand why!

Here's a few things that impressed us about Song's solo debut album!

        1. A Trot-Styled Title Track

It's not every day that an idol strays away from the dance or pop track model for a title track. But Song shows that he's not afraid to go against the grain and prove that he's unique in more ways than one. The trot-styled title track is insanely addictive and immediately gets your body moving along to its rhythm. With this as the base, we're excited for even more trot music from Song.

        2. An Album Of Various Genres And Styles

While Song starts off with trot, it doesn't stay this way for too long. Together with fellow groupmate Bobby, he delves into a heartwarming love song, followed by a sincere, heartfelt ballad. Song then goes full circle and closes things out with two certified trot tracks. While it keeps to a consistent theme, it does well to delve away at the right moments, showing that Song is not tied to the world-renowned signature sound of iKON.

        3. Song's Versatility As An Artist

If there's anything "It's CALL!" has taught us about Song, it's his versatility as an artist. When he stands on stage as a member of iKON, he can easily jump around the stage, knowing exactly what to do to get audiences hyped. But exciting dance tracks cannot define his entire identity, rather it makes up a small portion of who Song is an artist. Through "It's CALL!", he makes his transformation known and that as a soloist, he has his own unique color waiting to greet fans.

What did you think of iKON Song's solo debut mini-album?
