        NOW IS MINI

The 2024 F/W Seoul Fashion Week is currently underway, and style and fashion experts from around the world are paying attention. The 5-day event, starting Feb 1 and ending today, Feb 5, is being held at DDP and S Factory, Seoul, South Korea, with 21 brands presenting fashion shows. This year, generation-defining K-Pop girl group NewJeans have been chosen as show ambassadors.

We analyzed every single fashion show at the 2024 F/W Seoul Fashion Week, and several new trends have emerged in K-Fashion. So, if you're looking to upgrade your wardrobe for the season, check out which trends dominated the 2024 F/W Seoul Fashion Week below!

        1. Colors Of The Season: Grey & Red

While black and white were ubiquitous in almost all the fashion shows, two new colors have emerged as trends that no one can miss. These colors are grey and red. Grey monochrome outfits were seen in several collections, such as those by Korean designers RE RHEE, DÉ MOO, SUNWOO, FROMWHERE, ULKIN, and many more. A lot of these grey looks featured the business-core aesthetic.

Red was mostly used as an accent or statement piece in the designs presented at the 2024 F/W Seoul Fashion Week. Red and black was also a popular combination seen on the runway. Various shades of red, such as pink, were also spotted. Almost all the brands presenting fashion shows, including GREEDILOUS, DÉ MOO, SUNWOO, CONECT®X, and more, featured red in some capacity. So, if you want to look trendy this fall/winter season, red is going to be your best friend.

Some other colors and tones that were seen on the runway include earthy tones of yellow and brown, green, ivory, greyish blue, and sand.

        2. Textiles Of The Season: Leather & Fur

Leather hasn't gone out of style for years now, and 2024 is no exception. The 2024 F/W Seoul Fashion Week saw an abundance of leather designs, whether that be in the form of jackets, skirts, trousers, dresses or otherwise. So, if you already own a leather piece or two, congratulations! You're right on trend. However, if you want to be even more specific, brown leather seemed to be quite popular on the runway, so you might want to add it to your wardrobe if that suits your style! Some Korean designers who included leather in their collections include HOLYNUMBER7 and RE RHEE, among others.

Another textile that popped out a lot at the 2024 F/W Seoul Fashion Week was fur. Oversized fur pieces were featured in collections by designers such as DOUCAN, Hannah Shin, and 02 ARMOIRE. Fur recently became quite trendy with the "mob wife" aesthetic, which popularized big fur coats, so it is no surprise that it was spotted on the runway too.

If you're looking to incorporate these textiles into your wardrobe, we recommend you try to go for sustainable and cruelty-free options, if possible.

        3. Prints Of The Season: Animal Print, Camo

Unlike leather, animal prints and camo go in and out of style quite a lot. You might think it's so last season or too reminiscent of the "mob wife" aesthetic, but either way, both animal prints and camo are back in style and here to stay, for this season at least. Its wide presence might be due to the increasing popularity of Y2K, but the designs incorporating these prints were definitely more on the modern side. AJOBYAJO and HOLYNUMBER7 were some designers who had animal prints or camo in their collections.

        4. Structures Of The Season: Avant-garde, Flowy, Oversized, Shoulder Pads

Construction is always a huge part of fashion, and the 2024 F/W Seoul Fashion Week gave us some interesting options to play with. Avant-garde fashion, which leans towards a more experimental aesthetic, was spotted in collections by LIE, BLR, MAISON NICA, Hannah Shin, and SUNWOO, to name a few. A general preference for flowy garments was also seen on the runway, not just with women's clothing, such as dresses and skirts, but also with menswear, with trousers. Some collections that presented flowy designs with elements like fringes, flowy straps, etc., include DÉ MOO and DOUCAN, among others.

Oversized jackets, coats, blazers, and even scarves were also incredibly numerous at the 2024 F/W Seoul Fashion Week, with almost every designer incorporating this element into their designs. In addition to being oversized, jackets, coats, and such garments also featured shoulder pads, giving the illusion of broad shoulders and making a powerful statement.

HOLYNUMBER7, BLR, PARTsPARTs, FROMWHERE, Hannah Shin, DOUCAN, AJOBYAJO, JIMINLEE, RE RHEE, DÉ MOO, and ULKIN - all had oversized garments and shoulder pads in their collections.
