17 degrees Fahrenheit. -8.3 degrees Celsius. A cold that chills you to the bone, unexpected of Texas. The skies threaten to release the first snowflake of the year, and VAMPZ pile into South Side Music Hall in downtown Dallas. It’s now VAV’s job to raise the temp.
VAV debuted on November 2nd, 2015, under A Team Entertainment with 'Under the Moonlight'. Their members did go through many changes until they got to this lineup, St. Van, Ace, Ayno, Jacob, Lou, and Ziu. Since then, they have released hit singles such as 'Dance With Me', 'Senorita', 'Thrilla Killa', 'Give me more', 'Poison', and their most recent release, 'Designer'. Since we last saw them in Dallas, every member has fulfilled their military duties, except Ayno.
They opened the concert with their latest release, 'Designer', then proceeded to '119' and 'Thrilla Killa'. (Some tour stops got 'Poison' instead of 'Thrilla Killa' here). Lou talked about how he’s been to Dallas many times now and he doesn’t believe it’s ever warm here. They should do a show here in August.

They proceed to perform 'Senorita', 'Give me more', 'Winter Breeze', and covers of 'One Thing' by One Direction and 'Marry You' by Bruno Mars, where it looks like Lou got on one knee for Jacob, and Jacob rejected him.
After this, they did something that I had almost forgotten about from the first VAV show, “Make Vampz Dreams Come True”. They still choose six fans to come up on the stage and pick from a stack of things to do. Jacob got a running start to an up-close encounter, St. Van serenaded fans, Lou did aegyo, Ace gave a back hug, and if memory serves me correctly, Ziu and Ayno did selfies. The first time I saw them do this, it was a smaller show and pre-pandemic. I’m happily shocked that they continued the tradition.

They continue the concert, playing 'Venus', 'Give It To Me', 'Moto', among others, ending with an encore of 'Into You' and 'Touch you', where their fan service peaked with Ace and Jacob throwing their shirts into the crowd.

When I first covered VAV back in February of 2019, I was a casual fan turned stan because of their energy and love for their fans. I’m happy to see that that love has only grown stronger and I really hope it won’t be another 4 years before we get to see them back in Dallas.
