It would be insufficient to say that NewJeans has made a splash in the music industry — rather, the girl group has produced momentous waves that have been felt worldwide. From viral TikTok challenges to iconic memes, the girl group has become an international treasure, making it difficult to believe that they only debuted in July 2022.
As both a group and on an individual scale, the five members have been booked and busy with a variety of different schedules. Of the many events on the girl group's calendar, NewJeans' MinJi recently had yet another collaboration with Harper's BAZAAR Korea. Besides shooting a jaw-dropping pictorial, the idol also sat down with the fashion magazine as the first guest for a brand new segment: "Beauty Timeline". There, MinJi brings us through various moments in her career from pre-debut to now.
Among the various events chosen by Harper's BAZAAR Korea, they show a moment of when NewJeans became ambassadors to promote the city of Seoul. She was then asked to recommend some sights to fans watching abroad.
So here are two places you should visit in Seoul, as recommended by NewJeans' MinJi!
Insadong
The first spot recommended by MinJi is the lovely area of Insadong. Located in the heart of the city of Seoul, Insadong presents a fusion of traditional and modern.

There are various shops that feature traditional Korean goods, accompanied by its fair share of eateries, cafes, and teahouses. While listening to the hustle and bustle of city life, you'll have the opportunity to be whisked away on the waves of nostalgia.
The main attraction that MinJi highlights is Insadong Maneul Bossam, translated to Insadong Garlic Bossam. There you can partake in traditional Korean cuisine with a hearty helping of the restaurant's representative dish: napa wraps with pork and garlic.

Gyeongbokgung Palace
After spending some time in the shopping district of Insadong, MinJi suggests to head over to Gyeongbokgung Palace. Regardless of the season, you'll find a variety of different charms at the historical landmark.

While touring the palace you can visit the iconic Gwanghwamun Gate, be overcome by feelings of nostalgic romance at the Hyangwonjeong Pavilion, or receive a sense of intellectual inspiration from the various halls. Exploring the palace could take as little as one hour to three or more. With the amount of history and the many stories the palace walls hold, you're bound to learn something new no matter how many times you might go.
