And now the group is set to enchant Canadian fans with their “Be Here Now in Canada” tour this February and March. This exciting news follows their highly anticipated comeback in October with the mini-album “Love Effect.” Notably, this comeback marks the group's first release since all six members completed their military service on June 30.

To start things off, can you introduce yourselves and tell us your favorite late-night snack?

Hello. I'm HyoJin, the main vocalist of ONF and leader of the ON team. My favorite late-night snack is tteokbokki.

Fans are SO excited to see that you are all back together and have all completed your military service. Now that you are all together again, what are your plans as a group?

Since we haven't been able to meet our fans often, we are preparing many activities. We also plan to meet FUSE abroad, so please look forward to it!

In the future, I want to show a lot of things that we couldn't during our military service. For example, concerts, fan meetings, and new music!
E-Tion

It's been over 6 years since you debuted and you have experienced various musical styles. How would you describe the evolution of your sound from debut until now, and how do you see it evolving in the future?

Compared to our fresh first album, I think our vocals have steadily improved, and the overall atmosphere has changed a lot. In the future, I want to show a more challenging side and performances that are different from what we've done so far.

Initially, there were many challenging aspects. However, in the end, those challenges became our unique color. Since we consider what we do as our genre, we plan to continue challenging ourselves endlessly in the future.

How have each of you grown and developed as artists? Are there specific skills or aspects of your craft that you’re focusing on or trying to improve?

While composing, I made an effort to enhance the musical aspects. I took inspiration from watching the stages of various other artists.

If I were to point out the most improved aspect, it would be the increased comfort and enjoyment on stage. The mindset of having fun on stage has grown overall! It's delightful to see that our enthusiasm is well conveyed to the audience. Also, as the choreography has become more challenging, practicing more has undoubtedly improved our skills.

You are all about to embark on a Canadian tour. Have any of you ever been to Canada? What types of food or monuments are you excited to check out?

I've never been to Canada, but I've always wanted to go. I'm very excited to visit Canada through this tour and meet our international fans. When I think of Canada, Niagara Falls comes to mind first. I really want to go and see it.
HyoJin
If I go to Canada, I want to see Niagara Falls. Many FUSE highly recommended it, and when I saw pictures, I felt its grandeur. Also, I want to try maple syrup!
SeungJun
If I go to Canada, I definitely want to see Niagara Falls. I want to shout, "Niagara, here I come!" there (laughs).
E-Tion
I haven't been to Canada yet, but I heard that the scenery along the Canadian riverside is beautiful, so I want to see it.
Wyatt
Canada is a country I've always wanted to visit, so I'm really happy about this Canada tour. And if I go to Canada, I want to try spreading maple syrup on bread. Also, if I have the chance, I'd like to visit the Royal Ontario Museum!

I've always wanted to go to Canada since I was young. I want to try delicious foods and, most importantly, I really want to see Niagara Falls!

Your newest album was your 7th mini album, “LOVE EFFECT” that was released this past fall. Can each of you share your favorite song from the album and why it means so much to you?

It's the song 'Be Here Now.' As a song that conveys a message to the fans we missed during our military service, it still overwhelms me with emotions when I listen to it.

I love the song 'Be Here Now.' It embodies our sincere feelings during the long hiatus and is a song that only ONF can deliver.
SeungJun
'Wind Effect' is my favorite. The piano melody at the beginning creates a refreshing atmosphere. The harmonization of our voices makes it an even better song.
E-Tion
I like 'Arrival' the most. It's a song that showcases various charms like mix-pop, sounding cool and refreshing when you listen to it.
Wyatt
My favorite song from this album is 'Be Here Now.' It holds a special place in my heart as it's a song sung while thinking about the FUSE we missed during our military service.
MinKyun
'Dam Dam Di Ram' is my favorite. It's a song in a music style I personally like, and I really enjoy the dance break in the middle! The performance turned out well, and it's really fun to perform on stage!

How do you feel your individual strengths and personalities shine through in the different tracks on the album?

I believe each member's distinctive vocal personality shines through. That's why in every song, each member's voice stands out. I think this aspect is our team's biggest strength.

Speaking not just about one individual but about ONF as a group and the overall aspects of our albums, even though it's one album, the songs have a strong individuality. We make music that isn't confined to a single genre, and I consider that flexibility as our group's strength. So, when you listen, I think you'll feel that it's not boring at all.

K-Pop has gained immense popularity globally and ONF has grown so much during this process. How does ONF view its role in representing K-Pop internationally and how do you navigate cultural differences with such diverse fans and audiences?

Thanks to the fans who support ONF from afar, we are able to showcase our performances. We are working hard to prepare fantastic stages, and in addition, we are studying about different cultures and languages.

Due to COVID-19, we haven't been able to meet many international fans, and that has been really regrettable. However, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the fans who have always waited and supported us! Even if our languages may not align, I believe that our hearts can connect through music and performance. That's why we give our best on every stage. Also, covering famous songs from different countries is a moment where we can feel closer to our fans!
