K-Variety Round Up: Korean Variety Show Highlights That Are The Perfect Serotonin Boost (From The 4th Week Of March)

        tvN / MBC / SBS

It seems like the weekend just started and now we’re back to the start of another week. The Monday blues is a real phenomenon that plagues practically everyone. Whether it occurs once in your life or many, the Monday blues can prevent anyone from starting the week on the right foot. But through K-Variety Round Up, we hope to provide the perfect serotonin boost needed to combat the start of the week!

Through this series, we focus on small happenings from various Korean variety shows that you might have missed over the past week/weekend. These clips might appear across social media feeds, but it can be difficult to watch absolutely everything, on top of tending to our busy schedules.

That’s why Kpopmap is here to bring you the most uplifting and entertaining clips to a screen near you! Now, take a look down below for a little energy boost on the first day of the week.

        1. SHINee's Key Dancing To STAYC's 'Teddy Bear'

A good song, combined with an amazing performance can be a treat for the eyes and the heart. This combination can kickstart the blood pumping in your veins and create the perfect flow of adrenaline needed to get through the day.

So what’s a better way to start off this Monday than a fancam of SHINee’s Key. On tvN’s “Amazing Saturday”, he’s known as the girl group dance genius, able to replicate the choreography for any female idol song. He absolutely slays this cover of STAYC’s most recent title track, ‘Teddy Bear’. From his facial expressions to his dance lines, everything is perfect and makes for the best serotonin boost.

        2. The Chaos Of "HyeMiLeeYeChaePa"

Who doesn't love watching a bit of chaotic fun to jumpstart their Monday morning? ENA's "HyeMiLeeYeChaePa" has provided viewers heaps of hilarious moments that makes their sides hurt from laughter. This week, one of the missions for the girls was to complete a challenge, then at the end, take a photograph all together.

The cast members were able to pass the first two rounds with flying colors. But when it came to the third, chaos ensued. They had to spin around 10 times before taking a picture, and it was at this moment, everyone lost their balance. There's people like Girl's Day's HyeRi who are struggling to remain standing and then there's LE SSERAFIM's Kim ChaeWon cutely falling in the back. It was a hysterical mess that you'll find yourself watching over and over again.

        3. BTOB's ChangSub Being Introverted

Not everyone is comfortable out in public. Things that are considered simple and easy like speaking with a worker can be absolutely nerve-wracking. A one minute interaction can take five minutes for the extremely introverted. If this sounds like you, fret not, because you’re not alone! Even a legendary K-Pop idol like BTOB’s ChangSub can get shy and nervous in public.

Recently, ChangSub appeared on MBC’s “I Live Alone”. Although he’s known to be outgoing and charismatic on stage, the idol turned into a complete introvert while eating alone. The way he glanced around the room and asked for help from the worker was endearing. It served as a reminder that idols are human too, and that even they can be careful and hesitant in public. The entire moment was funny, yet heartwarming to watch.

        4. Demonstration Of The Nordic Curl

It can be difficult heading to the gym, especially at the beginning of another long week. But if you're looking for some workout motivation this Monday, then look no further! On this past episode of "Knowing Bros", participants from Netflix's hit series "Physical 100" were invited to the show!

They demonstrated an extremely difficult exercise, called the Nordic curl. While Yun SungBin, with the help of Choo SungHoon, was able to do it with ease, the same can't be said about the "Knowing Bros" castmates. Although Lee SooGeun and Min KyungHoon tried in earnest, their versions of the exercise had a comedic twist to it that had viewers bursting with laughter.

        5. Crush and Zico Reenact "Transit Love"

"Transit Love" was a wildly popular Korean dating reality show. Everyone from enthusiastic netizens to world-renowned K-Pop artists were avid fans of the program. So when Crush and Zico saw their "hot spring" bath, they decided to make a reference to "Transit Love".

They obviously took notes from dating programs like "Transit Love" and quickly dived into character, having a serious talk about "how they felt toward one another". The overall feel and atmosphere truly felt like a dating reality show, right until Zico ended the reenactment with a light-hearted joke.

We hope with this edition of K-Variety Round Up, your Monday blues will be cured in no time! Fighting!
