Kpopmap Fan Interview: A K2YWE From Poland Talks About Her Favorite Group BLANK2Y And Her Biases SoDam & DongHyuk

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other's stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

Ancu is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Poland and is a fan of BLANK2Y, and particularly of SoDam and DongHyuk. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hi! My name is Ancu and I’m from Poland!

How and when did you enter the fandom?

My friends are the reason I joined! Once, when we were sitting on Discord they told me about Keystone Boyz and I remember I was really intrigued because back then we didn’t know about any members besides YoungBin! I immediately started following them everywhere. I joined the fandom somewhere in late November/early December.

What do you think differentiates this rookie group from others?

Hm… It’s a pretty hard question honestly. I would say the background of each member, because most of them were already in groups/survival shows, and how close they are with fans. Since predebut era they are really active on fancafe and they also did some mention parties!

Who caught your attention at first and why? Did you know any members prior to their debut?

I was a huge fan of "PRODUCE 101" series so I knew Park SiWoo before the debut! I also knew DongHyuk because my friends stanned ENOi. The first person that caught my attention was SoDam! It was him because of two reasons – first one is pretty random, but it was because he has the same MBTI as me! The second one is because I loved his voice, it’s very soothing.

Do you have a bias yet? If yes, tell us why?

I have two biases and one bias wrecker! My biases are SoDam and DongHyuk. DongHyuk is also my bias because of his overall personality – he cares a lot about others and he’s also really funny. My bias wrecker is SungJun! I just love when he performs! Even though I have biases, I really love all of them.

Can you recommend a title track and a bside track for new fans?

Hm… I’m a huge fan of their debut song called 'Thumbs Up'! So I would recommend it as a title track. The B-side track that I would recommend is 'Touch'! It’s also from their debut album and I listen to it every day.

Can you recommend a fancam, vlive, cover video, cover dance, or other from your favorite group or bias?

I’m a huge fan of their predebut cover of THE BOYZ's 'MAVERICK' and NCT 127's 'TOUCH'. I recommend it for all new fans! 'MAVERICK' cover shows us more masculine side of BLANK2Y, while 'TOUCH' gives us an opportunity to learn about their cuter side.

What is your best souvenir with your favorite group until now?

This is probably an unexpected response, but I’m thankful for their tweets. They really often thank us for being here for them and tell us things like “you did great today K2YWE”, which I find really meaningful. Besides that, they make sure that we drink a lot of water and stay warm during colder days. The fact that they care about us is the best souvenir in my opinion.

Can you recommend words that your bias like to hear to new fans who don't know yet about it?

There aren’t any particular words I think, but as a fan I feel like we should show them that we appreciate their efforts and even the basic “You did great today” will make their day better!

Can you describe your bias in only one word?

Beamish.

Can you share a fun episode that only fans from your fandom know to readers?

Before BLANK2Y debuted we would joke a lot that our fandom name should be "blanket"! Once we even put blankets as our profile pics on Twitter! I remember that I had a pink blanket.

If you are collecting goods, what is your most precious treasure? (

Once I won a polaroid in Makestar’s event! It’s HengYu (U)’s polaroid.

If you have a chance to cook for the group, what will you cook for them?

Hmm…. I want them to try food from my country so I would probably make either Pierogi or Bigos! Pierogi are dumplings with savoury or sweet filling, while Bigos is kind of hunter’s stew that consist chopped meat and shredded cabbage.

If you can spend a day with your bias, where will you go and what will you do?

With SoDam I would like to go to amusement park! We are of a similar age, so I feel like we both would have so much fun there.
With DongHyuk…. I would go play laser Tag or paintball with him! I feel like it would be one big comedy, so I really want to experience it!

What's your favourite 2022 moment involving your bias?

There were lots of moments like this, but the one I remember the most is that SoDam once responded to my letter and told me that he loves travelling and he hopes that one day we’ll meet overseas. Personally, I really love travelling so hearing that my bias also loves it made me so happy, and I hope I’ll be able to see him once at the concert!

Do you have a dream subunit/unit?

I really want to see DongHyuk collab with DaeHwi and DongHyun from AB6IX! I feel like their voices would match perfectly.

Name a variety show/content show that you would love to see your bias on? Tell us why.

Hm…. I would like to see whole group in the show called "Running Man"! I’m really curious who would be the most competitive one and who would try to pull jokes on others.

What is your favourite way of communicating with your bias?

Letters on fancafe! They’re pretty active there, so It’s much easier to communicate than on other socials

What do you have in common with your favourite idol?

Besides the same MBTI, me and SoDam aren’t easily frightened. And if we speak about DongHyuk, from what I know he daydreams a lot. So do I!

Have you ever made a new friend because of K-Pop?

I actually met a lot of people. If we speak about BLANK2Y, I have a friend group called Pola Hunter! We all get to know each other on twitter, before BLANK2Y’s debut and to this day we stay in touch. Even if we lose contact, I feel like they would be one of the most important people in my life and I will always be thankful that I even had an opportunity to meet them!

What are the things you are looking for their future activities?

I really hope that they’ll come to Europe one day! Besides that, I really hope that we’ll get a season's greetings.

I hope that they’ll always stay healthy. They bring much joy to their fans so I hope that they’ll feel as much happiness as we do. I really love them and I’m really thankful for them being by our side. I hope that they know that we will stay by their sides no matter what. I love them so much and I hope that one day I’ll be able to see them in real life and be able to say it personally to them.
