The highly-anticipated thriller K-Drama "Pyramid Game" has finally premiered with the release of the first four episodes and if there's anything we learned, it is that the casting is impeccable.

The cast of "Pyramid Game" consists of talented rising idol actress WJSN's BoNa in the leading role of Sung SooJi alongside debutante actresses Jang DaA as Baek HaRin, the primary antagonist of the show, and "Single's Inferno" contestant Shin SeulKi as Seo DoAh, as well as rookie actresses Ryu DaIn and Kang NaEon as Myung JaEun and Im YeRim respectively.

"Pyramid Game" is a psychological thriller set in an elite school where a popularity vote called "Pyramid Game" decides your fate. Sung SooJi is a new transfer student who starts at the very bottom, and this ranking proves brutal as she becomes subject to legal school violence.

Baek HaRin is the precious granddaughter of the Baekyeon Group - the chaebols who run the school, and despite her "princess-like" image, HaRin is a devil in disguise and the true mastermind of the Pyramid Game.

Seo DoAh is the class president who organizes the Pyramid Game vote every month, Myung JaEun is an outcast who refuses to participate in the game and voluntarily gets bullied instead, and Im YeRim is an idol trainee who is loved by all.

If "Weak Hero Class 1" were a psychological thriller full of labyrinthine mind games instead of action and set in a girls' high school, "Pyramid Game" is probably what you'd get. It is an unnerving, terrifying, and startling K-Drama that makes it impossible to take your eyes off of the screen. As a bonus, it is incredibly well-written, mirrors the tight pacing of the original webtoon, and passes the Bechdel test too!

BoNa, who has proved her outstanding talent in acting time and time again, is especially fantastic in "Pyramid Game", melting into her character seamlessly and with utmost conviction. Her sharp and unrelenting portrayal of SooJi is bound to leave your jaws hanging in awe.

Similarly, Jang DaA, who gained attention for being IVE member Jang WonYoung's sister prior to her screen debut, is a total revelation. She got the role of Baek HaRin by auditioning for it and is strikingly impressive, commanding attention. Needless to say, she exceeded expectations and is raising anticipation for her future as an actress in her own right.

Fans may also be surprised by the natural and seemingly effortless transformation of the peppy and angelic Shin SeulKi into the strict and uptight Seo DoAh.

As a matter of fact, all the actresses in the drama are fulfilling their much-needed roles with precision, and despite the cast exclusively starring young rising and rookie actresses, the acting in the drama is top-tier and incredibly immersive, which speaks highly of their talent.

With all these plus points and more, "Pyramid Game" is bound to be one of the most lauded K-Dramas of the year.
