4 Times K-Pop Fans Contributed To Noble Causes

We often love when our favorite K-idol makes a large contribution to a charity or supports a great cause, but are you aware of the many instances of their own fans doing so?

Here, we'll be going to go over a few, which you may or may not have heard of. In no particular order, here are 4 times K-Pop fans contributed to noble causes!

        1. ATINYs donated to the Polished Man campaign

After ATEEZ became ambassadors of the Polished Man campaign in 2020, ATINYs together donated nearly $30,000 to the movement! The Polished Man campaign is dedicated to helping eradicate violence against children. According to their website, money donated to the organization is used to support trauma prevention and trauma recovery programs for children who've faced violence or are at risk of it.

Hoping to spark conversations that lead to donations, the campaign encourages people to paint only one of their fingernails to represent the 1 billion children who've faced violence in the past year.

In the video attached to the tweet below, ATEEZ thanks their fans for donating to Polished Man.

        2. MONBEBEs helped save koalas

During the 2019–20 Australian bushfire season, a MONBEBE on Twitter collected money from other MONBEBEs via PayPal to donate to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. With these funds, MONSTA X fans were able to help protect Australia’s declining koala population in dire need of help in the midst of an awful bushfire season.

These donations can be given in the form of an “adoption,” which allows the donor to name a koala and gives them a certificate of adoption for it. Money from adoptions is used to help rescue and treat sick and injured koalas.

In total, more than $500 AUD was raised for the koalas, and each member of MONSTA X got a koala adopted under their name. WonHo got one too!

        3. A HanBin fan funded the construction of two schools in Vietnam

This isn’t a fandom’s collective donation, but rather a single fan’s hefty one. To celebrate HanBin’s debut as a member of TEMPEST, a Vietnamese fan of his funded the building of two small schools in the Yên Bái province, which is where HanBin is from!

The fan and her family donated nearly half a billion Vietnamese dong to make it happen. The first school built was a preschool with 58 students, and the second one was a kindergarten with around 35.

The schools provide an adequate learning environment for young children living in the remote highlands of Vietnam. The generous donor wishes for the children living in these rural areas to have access to a good education, unlike herself when she was a child. Now 41, she was forced to teach herself how to read and write because she was unable to attend school due to her difficult family circumstances.

        4. BLINKS and TREASURE MAKERs contributed to Typhoon Ulysses relief efforts

On Nov. 11, 2020, the devastating Typhoon Ulysses hit the Philippines. Like any other large-scale natural disaster, the good-heartedness and generosity of others is required to help those affected. Among those good-hearted people were BLINKS and Bang YeDam-biased TREASURE MAKERs who donated relief goods to the Office of the Vice President. It was reported that they gave enormous amounts of canned food, rice, noodles, and diapers. They were even honored by receiving thanks from Vice President Leni Robredo herself!
