Are you also curious about fellow K-Pop fans?! Let's hear their stories and interests in Kpopmap Fan Interview Project.

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other' stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

Prim is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from the Philippines and is a fan of SF9 and more particularly of RoWoon! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hi! I'm Prim, 21, from the Philippines. I support SF9.

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I became a fan last November 15, 2021. As the people in the fandom called me, I am still a baby FANTASY.

I discovered SF9 through RoWoon. I was watching "The King's Affection" on Netflix and his character intrigued me. I also found him cute so I made a quick search in Google and that's when I learned he is also an idol.

I watched contents about him and inevitably fell for him and his group. That's when I decided to stan SF9.

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

They are talented all-rounders, has meaningful music, and they treat their fans very well. Their interactions are also funny and when they are together, they are quite chaotic (in a funny way). They never fail to make me laugh.

You know, since we are in this pandemic, simple sources of happiness becomes too precious. SF9 became one of those sources for me and I am thankful for that.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

It was RoWoon from "The King's Affection". I loved his character in this drama and he delivered the acting very well. A talented idol-actor he is.
His broad shoulders also caught me (*blush*)

Who is your bias, and why?

My bias is RoWoon. Him being an astounding visual is on the list, but what I love most about him is his personality. He is bubbly, genuine in everything he does and humble.

I love his voice when he sings, his moves when he dances (although recently I think he's been limiting his moves because of his previous injury), and the sincerity and passion in his eyes when he acts.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

My personal favorite title track of theirs is 'Easy Love' from the 2nd Mini Album - "Breaking Sensation". It was catchy and gives off a nostalgic feels.

For the B-side tracks, I have to say this: everyone should check ALL their B-side tracks because it will never disappoint. My personal favorite though is 'Midnight Road' from the 4th Album - "Mamma Mia"!

This wasn't part of the question but if I have to recommend an album as a whole, it would be "Rumination", their latest comeback. The album as a whole is so good. Each song sounded distinct, yet the album has cohesion and is soulful.

Can you recommend a fancam, V-Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

*Killer fancams of Rowoon coming ~

Below are for singing.

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

Their latest comeback 'Trauma' MV is a must-see:

My favorite stage for 'Trauma' is during the KBS Festival:

My favorite MVs:

Here is also my favorite cover of their group ('Love Shot' by EXO):

These are all just performances. I would like to recommend more funny group content but there's a *lot* so might as well let my co-fans search the YT bar and discover all of it on their own (laughs).

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

It's the lyrics from their fan song 'For Fantasy':

"If you could be my star, I will become the sky that can make you happy"

It's pure words of comfort for me. Shows how much they value all the FANTASY out there and continuously dedicates themselves to improve as artists so they could offer better version of themselves.

I even made an edit of it and tweeted it on my stan account (see attached).

Note: I take no credit for the background picture used. I only added my favorite lyrics in the picture and did some edits.

Are there any words from the members you would like to share?

This wasn't literally a statement from a member but the line 'Sic Parvis Magna' of Leader Youngbin made an impact on me.

I came across it randomly in article/blog from Twitter about the meaning of their members' tattoos and he also performed this song that he wrote in their UNIXERSE concert.

Sic Parvis Magna is a latin word that means "Greatness from Small Beginnings" — it echoed through my heart.

What is your favorite group/bias' influence on your daily life?

To pursue for and be content with "small happiness" rather than be pressured of the extravagance and glamours of the world.

He talks about this most of the time when he interacts with the fans. I try to remind myself of this everytime things are overwhelming — that happiness can be found in the littlest of things.

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

Having to appreciate music more. My sister has been a K-Pop fan since late 2016 and I was one of those people who were never really into that kind of music.

"It's hard to appreciate music when you don't even understand the lyrics", that's what I have thought before, but SF9 made me learn new sides of me, not just a fangirl but as a person.

Now, I believe that whatever music you listen to, as long as it radiates and connects with you, then there's no need to go through any validation, you appreciate it naturally.

I make effort to learn more about the meaning of their songs though through reading the English translation of their lyrics.

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?

I think I don't have an in-depth insight about this matter since I don't know much about the landscape of this industry yet (as a new fan). But if there's one thing, I believe they deserve more appreciation so go check them out! 🙂

You can also add a message to your bias or show it on a message scrapbook.

To our Kim SeokWoo,

May you always feel the warmth of life the same way you radiate it to the world. Stay safe and healthy always ♥️

To SF9,

We, fantasies, will always support you. Nine or none — it will always be nine for us 🌈

Thank you for answering our questions, Prim.
