Reasons to watch: Another fantastic story about destined love, how could we miss it? But once again, who says fate and curse also mean tragic accidents and heartbreaking scenes. Watcha / Idol Romance / Heavenly
With more BL dramas being released at a rapid pace lately, one of the things we are all thankful for is having an ample amount of themed drama series to watch. From the high-teen/campus theme to the melodramas and even fantasy, we can aptly say that the tastes of fans in regard to the theme or settings of these dramas are finally being met.
One of the favorite themes amongst BL fans is the office romance. This theme often projects a push-and-pull love storyline between two workers who due to their close proximities, have no choice but to constantly interact, hence fostering their affection and interest in each other. These kinds of dramas are defined as wholesome and delightful as they often give viewers various moments that project the hilarious banter and chaotic moments between the main leads and the heart-fluttering and romantic moments they share as well.

The name of the series may come off as funny to many but that reaction carries through into the drama as well. Starring ZEROBASEONE's Kim JiWoong and Yoon SeoBin, this drama tells the story of the son of a Chaebol, HaJoon who is seeking to rent an apartment, and JaeYoon, a landlord. While looking for an apartment with great water pressure, HaJoon finally finds the one he likes and immediately pays for it, and moves in. He is settled in when he is greeted by JaeYoon who is shocked to see a strange man in his apartment. It turns out that HaJoon had paid the money to JaeYoon's friend who bolted and was no longer picking up his calls. With this new development, they both agreed to share the apartment till HaJoon can pay back the money. However, the apartment is not the only space they will be sharing as by the morning, HaJoon will find out that JaeYoon is the new team leader his team has been waiting for. Playing on the enemies-to-lovers trope, a cute but hilarious love story begins between these two workers who help each other overcome their struggles.
Starring Moon JiYong and Kwon Hyuk, the popular office rom-com tells the love story between a quirky and clumsy new intern who tries his best to do a good job and his smart but stern marketing manager, who everyone in the company respects and relies on. On his first day at work, Woo SeungHyun is smitten by the visuals and smarts of his boss Kim JongChan but tries his best not to show it. After a not-so-good first few interactions with Kim JongChan, Woo SeungHyun pushes himself and works harder to show he is serious about his job. This strive makes Kim JongChan notice him as he found himself trying to help the cute and clumsy intern. Soon, their connection turns into something better as they found themselves falling in love with each other. But will their positions affect their budding love story?
3. "Our Dating Sim"
Starring Lee SeungGyu and Lee JongHyuk, the office rom-com tells the cute love story between two former high school best friends who reconnect when one of them comes to apply for a job at the company where the other works. Lee Wan and Shin KiTae had been best friends in high school but one day, their friendship came to a quick halt when Lee Wan suddenly confesses his feelings for Shin KiTae, kisses him, and runs away before the latter could respond. A couple of years passed and the two finally reconnects again when Lee Wan applies for a job at the firm where Shin KiTae works. Shocked by this, Lee Wan tries his best to avoid Shin KiTae but fails terribly as this time, the latter refuses to let him run away again.

Korean BL drama blessed us with wonderful casts for the past few years, and it only keeps getting better. Whatever the trope was, the team working on the BL drama always found the perfect actors for each role. For cute and soft characters we got some flower boy actors such as Lee SaeOn in "Light On Me "(2021), and for the more mature character in an office romance, we got actors such as Won TaeMin in "You Make Me Dance" (2021). Whatever the situation was, the audience was always super satisfied with the casts chosen for Korean BL dramas.
Yet, don't let those series fool you! What you saw on screen was certainly pleasant, but some of those actors have a hidden side to them. The ones you thought were cute suddenly turn into a completely different person while off-screen. They're not less cute, but they trade their soft image for one more charismatic and mature, while on the contrary, some who pulled up the most serious acting ever are true busy bees outside of their series. So if you liked any of those 4 BL actors on screen, get to know them and how they are off-screen as well!
Note: this is not a ranking.
1. Won Taemin
Won TaeMin's Instagram
This actor, as mentioned before, played in the BL drama "You Make Me Dance" (2021) but also more recently in the BL drama "Unintentional Love Story" (2023). In this second drama, TaeMin showed a completely different from his previous BL drama already, but wait until you see what he looks like when he's not shooting! TaeMin is definitely very handsome, but he is even more when he takes those cool pictures off-set, or when he hit the gym. Anyway, let's enjoy his good acting and good looks! Kpopmap also held an interview recently with Won TaeMin talking about his future projects and more, you can check it out here!
2. Lee SaeOn
Lee SaeOn's Instagram
Also listed previously, this actor was the cutest when he stared in "Light On Me"(2021), but probably it was just a trick because his off-screen image is the complete opposite of what he showed on screen. Of course, he still has those light facial features, but his charisma is so much stronger than when he was playing this cute and shy high schooler falling in love. When it is understandable that it was all part of the acting, because a cute high schooler doesn't match a big charisma image, the off-screen image of Lee SaeOn let fans shocked, in a good way of course.
Kim JiWoong, known for his never-ending talents, also showed a big duality on and off-screen. If he always plays very strict and serious characters in the BL drama he starred in like "Roommates Of Poongduck 304"(2022), he is actually the softest when he's not acting. This could be seen in the vlogs he shoot with his co-actor Yoon SeoBin, or even in his recent appearance in the survival show "Boys Planet", where he did not hesitate to show all various sides of himself. And fans definitely loved it.
This rookie actor starred in the BL web drama "Choco Milk Shake" recently and gained a lot of popularity from that. He was playing the role of Choco, who used to be a dog. So without any surprise, his character was soft, warm, and playful giving it a very childish personality. Overall, everyone remembers Choco as a very cute and soft character from the series. Yet, while his character was cute, no one missed Lee JaeBin's impressive body shape, and if you were curious about it, you're going to love his off-screen image! Indeed, Lee JaeBin shared many pictures of him hitting the gym, and he seems like the perfect gym buddy or even coach!
The duality of those actors is incredible, who would have thought they could pull off such different vibes and images? But luckily, their heart and personality never change.
