Many Korean celebrities have tattoos and fans are always curious about what they mean or the story behind why they got them. This series will explore the meanings behind some of your favorite celebrities' tattoos.

This week we'll be covering BoA's wrist and finger tattoos.

BoA is one of the original queens of K-Pop that is adored worldwide. She is a treasure in the industry and many may be curious about her, especially fans who are new to K-Pop.

BoA has a wrist tattoo that reads 'Chiara'. It is her baptismal name and means 'clear'. She supposedly got the tattoo to cover up a scar that she got during dance practice.

You can often see glimpses of it in the photos that she uploads or that are taken by the media.

She also has a smiley face on the side of her finger. It is not really visible, however, she made sure to share a photo of it on her Instagram for her fans. It definitely reflects her smiley personality.
