NCT DREAM had been active before their debut under SM Rookies but their full-fledged debut came with the song 'Chewing Gum'. The song caught people's attention not only because of its vibrant, eye-catching colors but mainly because of the dance! The dance was unique because the members did their dance while on hoverboards. This shows their freedom and playfulness as the song has a very cheerful tune to it. Their debut gave everyone a glimpse of the group's appearance as teenagers who want to have fun!
A More Mature NCT DREAM In 'GO' And 'BOOM'
NCT DREAM kept up their boyish momentum in their future releases after 'Chewing Gum' with songs like 'We Young' and 'My First And Last'. When the years 2018 and 2019 rolled in, they decided to switch up their vibes a bit! Two songs that stuck out were 'GO' and 'BOOM'. These sounds had never been done by the group before, sticking to their happy, popish melodies and free-spirited charms. These songs showed a more mature, darker vibe to the boy group. They ditched the colorful aesthetics and vibrant music videos for streetwear, darker melodies, and even suits! This was a pleasant surprise to see and the songs were a massive hit, especially when 'BOOM' was their 2nd most viewed music video after 'Hot Sauce'.
Despite All The Changes, NCT DREAM Are Still The K-Pop Worlds Youth
The group may do countless comebacks and concepts but they will always remind us that they are still the bubbly, energetic boys that we know from 2017! Despite songs like 'GO', 'BOOM', and 'Smoothie' having mature vibes, they still know how to show us their vigorous charms in different ways. Their songs 'Glitch Mode', 'Hot Sauce' and 'Beatbox' have different concepts than previous songs but they still showed off the boy's young side in them through the dance and visuals.
