Since the 2nd generation of K-Pop, it’s become a thing for K-Pop groups to adopt concepts. Be it concepts for stages or their general group concept, a sort of identity in this form is mostly sought after for a lot of idol groups, both male and female.

K-Pop girl groups have especially been known to produce an assortment of concepts. From Red Velvet’s famous and widely acclaimed ‘red and velvet’ concept, to former girl group IZ*ONE and their dreamy yet mature concept, even down to the most recent one: NewJeans’s Y2K concept with a fun and young twist. But then, we’ve found ourselves thinking that some female idols were more suited for another group's concept than their group’s own, which is why we’ll be highlighting 5 of those idols in the list below.

        1. Kep1er’s Huening Bahiyyih in NewJeans

There was a buzz going around in the Kep1ian and Tokki fandoms when Bahiyyih sang NewJeans’s famous track, ‘Hype Boy’ on a livestream. Fans immediately took to social media, citing how well Bahiyyih’s voice blended so smoothly with the song and commending the singer’s vocal abilities. NewJeans’s young and fresh concept just seems to go well with Bahiyyih, and it may even bring out a more fun side to the idol fans were unaware of.

        2. Red Velvet’s Joy in TWICE

Red Velvet are unarguably the queens of concepts, so it’s no surprise that a member can be placed in a group that suits them just as well. Joy is known for her bright and outgoing aura, and her smile remains as contagious as ever. If she were placed in TWICE, be it then or now, you’d almost believe she was made for the group. Joy makes us believe she’d fit right into TWICE without a hitch, and we’re sure you agree, too.

        3. OH MY GIRL’s Mimi in DREAMCATCHER

While OH MY GIRL may have this vibrant and appealing image, Mimi sometimes begs to differ. Being the designated girl crush/badass member of the group, it makes perfect sense to see her in a group like DREAMCATCHER. For one, the metal and rock vibes with suit Mimi so well, we believe, and she’d definitely aid DaMi in spitting out more viral rap verses. Yup, we can definitely see that happening.

        4. EVERGLOW’s Mia in NMIXX

It’s almost become an unarguable fact that NMIXX is an all-rounder girl group. From dance to vocal to stage presence to visuals, the group has more than one of each, all being insanely talented. Mia is a member that is almost consistently talked about in EVERGLOW, and if you think about how talented she is in the aforementioned categories, grouping her with the NMIXX members would be almost too natural to be true.

        5. fromis_9’s Lee NaGyung in MOMOLAND

MOMOLAND have this aesthetically pleasing and appealing image and concept, so much so that’s it’s difficult to not vibe to it once in a while. Out of all the fromis_9 members, Lee NaGyung seems to be the one that could seamlessly blend in with MOMOLAND’s concept. She has the vocals that aren’t too strong nor too soft, and the visuals to boot. Seeing her as part of the MOMOLAND lineup would not have raised brows at all.

        BONUS: Kep1er’s Hikaru & XG

5 Female K-Pop Idols And The Group Concepts That Suit Them

An unconfirmed rumour has it that Kep1er’s Hikaru was in the lineup for the South Korean-based J-pop girl group, XG. We can totally see that happening because she fits so well with their vibe. Her energy, swag and girl crush character is a perfect fit with XG’s concept, and no doubt, if Hikaru debuted with them, she would’ve shined just as bright as she is shining now.
