It is not uncommon for K-Pop idols to transition into acting as a way to expand their creative horizons in the Korean entertainment industry. As a matter of fact, some of the most popular Korean actors today, both in film and television, have had successful careers as idols before and at times have been simultaneously managing their acting and performing careers with equal amounts of effort and attention. Needless to say, these artists work hard and do so sincerely. With more and more idols opting for acting, fans are counting down days before their favourite idol announces their acting debut as well.
In the same vein, today we'll be talking about WonHo! WonHo is popular in the K-Pop fandom as well as out of it for his breathtaking visuals and his build, which is rather unconventional when it comes to your usual K-Pop idol. Among fans, he's known for his outstanding musicality and expressiveness, not only through his lyrics but through the way he presents himself in music videos as well. There's so much depth to his presence that it is truly a matter of time before he decides to take on an acting project.

1. Romantic Comedy

Fans know that WonHo is an absolute softie, with the sweetest disposition and a heart of gold. The fact that this might not be one's first impression of him, especially considering his intimidating and towering physique, works even better in a romantic comedy scenario. With the increasing popularity of webtoon adaptations, we totally see him as the incarnation of a manhwa character come to life! If we were to be more specific, a character like Kousuke from the popular webtoon 'I Love Yoo' is undoubtedly meant for WonHo. Alternatively, a character like Number 4 from 'Devil No. 4' would also be super interesting!
2. Action

This one is perhaps obvious because there's no way for bad guys to survive if WonHo steps in to protect the good. His duality would be even more apparent and charming in an action scenario and who wouldn't be excited to see all those muscles that WonHo has worked so hard for, in action! What would be even more intriguing would be to see how WonHo melts into his characters, taking on their characteristics. If we're lucky, we might even see a darker side to him, something like a Vincenzo Cassano from "Vincenzo"or Kim DoGi from "Taxi Driver"!
3. Fantasy

Something that sets Korean entertainment and K-Dramas in particular apart from the rest of global entertainment is its treatment of mythology, urban legends, supernatural beings and all things fantastical. Some of the most popular K-Dramas to date include the iconic "Goblin", "My Love From The Star", 'Tale of the Nine-Tailed', 'The Legend of the Blue Sea" and more. WonHo has the perfect temperament to play a majestic supernatural being and we can't wait to see that side of him shine!
